Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip

And a happy Monday to you too. Good weekend I trust and here's to a fine week ahead. Saturday was busy with Radio One Vintage on the air and the 50th anniversary breakfast love-in. Nick Grimshaw, Tony Blackburn, Mike Read, Sara Cox and me! It was lovely to see so many colleagues and so many croissants in one small area. Here's to the next 50 and the sure knowledge that Tony will be there for that too.

Loved the Johnnie Walker hour on R1V, enjoying Noel now and have downloaded Kenny Everett, Tommy Vance and Kevin Greening. And Fluff still to come (you can catch up with that later-bit of a clash).

That clash is with the Bookclub which features the latest from Matt Haig 'How To Stop Time'. Tom has anageria, a condition which means he ages 15 times slower than the rest of everyone else and mustn't fall in love. He appears to be a 40 year old history teacher but actually he's more than 400 and met some of the great characters in British history. It's classic Matt Haig, signed up to be a Benedict Cumberbatch film and you can read a chapter here. Then hear Matt (not Fluff) after 6.

And REFUSING TO GROW OLD songs might help us too. Pass the elixir of life, rub the philosopher's stone and let's pretend one more time.
