On the road again (in the words of Canned Heat) to some poor unfortunate pupils who will nod politely (with any luck) then go to maths.
'Who was that guy?' says one on the way out.
'No idea' says the other. 'Shall we listen to the Top 40 rundown at lunchtime. I've brought in my radio...'
'Fab!' says kid 1, 'I love the way Gary Davies does that.'
'Oh I preferred Paul Burnett' says kid 2, 'then some Solid Gold Sixty with Tom Browne on Sunday.'
'Who is that guy?'
'No idea' and so on.
I was thinking along these lines as it's been announced the Top 40 is moving to Fridays. Instantly happy memories of old cassettes (is there any other kind) filled with Top 40 recordings spring to mind. I do hope you weren't the kind of listener who chopped the DJ out? That was a horrible practice and really quite offensive.
TOP 40 HIT PARADE CHART RUNDOWN oldies please, and we'll fade in the Radio Tirana call sign for old times sake.
That, plus it's a TUNESDAY! How much more fun can we have...
