A Place Called Spring

Good morning groovers and we are ready to go with another fine week of shows. Hope the weekend ticked over nicely and that all that food and drink you like talking about was everything you wanted it to be. Those doing the 5 and 2 (or 4 and 3 if you’re Matt) will have found it a tough one. Discipline during the week is one thing but discipline at the weekend is way too tricky. Or maybe I’m just week and feeble. A raw vegetable breakfast of penance awaits…
Book club today with bestselling author Patrick Gayle’s A Place Called Winter. Patrick often writes about Cornwall but here is telling the story of Harry Cane (not that one) who, after a scandal,is forced to leave his wife and son and travel to the remote Canadian Prairies. The Winter of the title is, as you might expect,a desolate and unforgiving place. We are back on the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway taking the slow train to Saskatchewan-read a chapter here. It is also a personal story for Patrick as it is loosely based around his great-grandfather. Hear it all after 6. And while we talk about Winter, we will play songs for SPRING as we have passed the the spring equinox on Saturday and it is frankly about time. We did it on March 3rd last year so I have been patient. What do you fancy (apart from another pain au chocolat)?
