Good morning groovers. Friday blessings on us all. Nicely poised for some weekend wonders here. No canvas/glamping/pyramid stage/trenchfoot but two shows to deliver!
Show 1 features all the movie chat with Asif Kapadia, the director of Amy, the new documentary about Amy Winehouse. He’s the guy who gave us Senna, that masterful film from 4 years ago and now tells another heartbreaking story. And in almost complete contrast, the directors of Minions Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda. And I am delighted to report, the film is a hoot and delight from start to finish. Take your kids/other folk’s kids and giggle away.
And we’ll ARF together if that’s with you. Let’s try 1981 for that opening tune. Hello to Sunday football, the SDP, the London Marathon and the Sinclair ZX81. Shergar wins the Grand National, Spurs win the FA Cup and your host is one of the 1981 Census operatives, knocking on doors and delivering big amounts of paper to good folk of Worthing. And songs? What would sound good at 5.05?
