A sunny Tuesday here, almost blotted out by a pile of ironing which, for some reason, seems to be increasing. I feel the need for the return of Crimplene. Imagine if everything you wore had that famous 'wash and go' look, instantly pressed and gorgeous. Up there with Brentford Nylons as the epitome of 70s style (not that I knew anything about style in the 70s. Maybe I'll just get stuck in.

The always cool Joe Brown on the show today, about the only guest we can have who can say The Beatles opened for him. And in Liverpool too! This was 1962 but he and George Harrison stayed good friends. In the Concert for George that was held to celebrate the life of the former Beatle in 202, it was Joe who was asked to close the show with 'I'll See You In My Dreams' played on the ukelele. It was a powerful moment. Joe has a whole album of ukelele songs out-he's always been a huge supporter of the instrument. In fact in 1963 his recording of 'With My Little Ukelele In My Hand' got him banned from the BBC for being too risqué! Joe after 6.

And how about BEING COOL oldies? Difficult to define but you know it when you see it (and Joe Brown has it). Is it fashion? Self assurance? Attitude? Who knows. Choose some songs and let's see what happens...

Have a high-rolling, high-achieving Tuesday. See you after 5
