Up and running, Tuesday looking cloudy and mild here with a suggestion of further ironing later. It's a non-stop battle to eliminate the pile of crumpled clothes and bedding which is magically refilled every night. However much time is spent 'dashing away with the smoothing iron' nothing ever changes. Whatever happened to crimplene? That was the future once...

Today we have Jon Sopel on the show, the BBC's North America editor. He has written 'If Only They Didn't Speak English' which is a fabulous guide to the new America. It's a primer, a 'new readers start here' analysis of where the USA is in 2017. And the book only came about because Jon was on the show a couple of years ago to talk about the forthcoming American election. He was then contacted by a literary agent who'd heard our chat and this is the result. We are all part of this book.
And BACK IN THE OLD ROUTINE oldies as we are all, finally, more or less, back in the old routine.
