Busy old show on the way! John Cleese is in today to talk Python and getting the whole show on the road one final time. I haven't interviewed him for many years but he was always a fan of radio and an earnest interviewee. He had had enough of print interviews where, he felt, everything got twisted and misrepresented. And of course he's funny. But does he need to rehearse the parrot sketch again? Won't everyone be shouting the lines out before he gets there? John's on from 5.15!
Also today, everyone's favourite Paul Carrack is back with another fine album of beautifully crafted songs called Rain Or Shine. Since 'How Long', 'Tempted' and 'The Living Years' there have been so many of Paul's songs to admire, he must be amongst our toppermost, yet underestimated singers. Paul's here from 6.
In amongst all that, how about songs for THE CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW which opens today. If the Queen and Benedict Cumberbatch are visiting, this is still a big show. Some stunning gardens on display and an inspiration for some and-for those of us with no green fingers at all-a source of mystery. But lots of lovely tunes to choose from...
