U2 - Achtung Baby

Q have enlisted the help of The Killers, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Glasvegas and others to help celebrate the 20th birthday of U2’sAchtung Baby. Called AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered, Jack White’s take on Love is Blindness is up on Soundcloud.



With the Manic Street Preachers’ new singles collection coming out, National Treasures, a host of musicians and journalists from Steve Lamacq to NME editor Krissi Murison and The Chemical Brothers have contributed to a new biography for the band. Mikey Walsh, formerly of Weezer, has sadly died in a Chicago hotel. The bassist was just 40 and eerily seemed to predict his passing on Twitter a couple of weeks ago. More information on Billboard.



In a similar vain to Radiohead, Death Cab for Cutie have released a seven track remix record based on their album Codes and Keyes. From it, Cut Copy’s reworking of Doors Unlocked and Open is up on Soundcloud.



Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks are the latest band to pay homage to R.E.M by covering Radio Free Europe. Have a watch on YouTube.



Dubstep truly is winning, and flowing into popular mainstream. Nokia launched a competition to rework their infamous theme tune – think Trigger Happy – and VAS_SD electronic half-time version won. Check out all the top entrants here.
