Digital Digest: Napster, iPads, D/R/U/G/S and more

The Independent Label Market is getting a lot of blogs talking at the moment. Taking place on Saturday (May 21) on Berwick Street, London, a number of independent labels such as XL, Bella Union and Chess Club are set to erect stalls and hawk their back catalogue of vinyl, along with some rarities, exclusives and guest appearances. After we wrote about Hypem’s App launch, Napster have announced their own streaming service. It is available on both mobile devices such as iPhones and Androids as well as computers (how 2010). More information is up on Gigwise.
Whiskey makers Crown Royal have made a behind the scenes documentary about Outkast rapper, Big Boi. Showing him at his gigs and at his favourite Jamaican takeaway they also let him design his own velveteen bag for their liquor. Its up on The Fader but there is some strong language so be careful if you are easily offended.
