Guest Blogger - Creative Boom

I’ve always been the kind of person who enjoys helping others, so when I realised new musicians and bands weren’t getting the recognition they deserved, I set up Creative Boom to give them more exposure.



The site is an online magazine and network community for the creative industries I created and run in my spare time. It’s there to shout about bands, artists and anyone else who need to get their name out there.



There’s a news section if you want to share your latest stories like album/single releases and I interview people. Then there’s a ‘tips’ section, which shares a load of advice to try and give musicians pointers about becoming a success.



For example, it’s really important for bands to know how to promote themselves online and there are a few suggestions up there about how to best utilise social media and organise yourself with a website or blog. And there is another section with tips about how to build a strong Twitter following which a lot of people are quite concerned about.



Another great great thing about running an e-zine like this is the talent you discover. Two of the artists I picked for the show I discovered through the site for instance - Stan’s Magic Foot and Cheap Jazz who hail from Derby – its all pretty exciting!
