So that big Florence and the Machine announcement – well it was new track What the Water Gave Me. Steve Lamacq had the world exclusive on his show yesterday on 6 Music and a lot of blogs have been trying to answer what exactly water has given to Florence Welch. Watch the video here.



And Tom Waits is also back. He has announced details of new album Bad As Me and posted the video for the title track to YouTube. More information at Stereogum on the LP.



Bjork will be recognised for her Outstanding Contribution to Music at the inaugural Independent Music Awards this November, while Domino founder Laurence Bell will be awarded the Pioneer Award. More information at Drowned in Sound.



Wilco have released the video for I Love My Label – a cover of Nick Lowe’s track – which will also appear on the deluxe version of their album, I Might, which comes out next month.



NME are reporting how some New York businesses are fearing riots when Metallica play Yankee Stadium in the city next month and are appealing for more police.
