A new track from Daft Punk – one of the acts most speculated about on blogs – is coming out next month it emerged this week, as part of Scottish label Soma Records’ 20th Anniversary Compilation CD.



The track is called Drive, and was discovered in a pile of 17-year old DATs at the label’s offices – it was meant to be part of their first release with them but was replaced by Da Funk – the track which began dance fans love affair with the two Frenchmen.



Staying on a European flex, The Recommender comes on and tells us about why Scandinavian music is so good – amongst some other gems – as does the editor of Drowned in Sound.

* The Foo Fighters played a number of garages throughout April, creating some pretty unique memories for a few lucky people, and an accompanying 40-minute Garage Tour documentary now up on YouTube.

* Wayne Coyne continues to baffle. His latest stunt – marrying a couple on stage in Canada with the bride and groom both dressed up as characters from the Wizard of Oz. See it to believe it on YouTube.

* Pitchfork TV have the exclusive stream of the new video from American chillwave artist, Toro y Moi.

* There’s been speculation online all week about Arctic Monkeys after reports have suggested the group are about to become the subject of a major bidding war as the band’s deal with Domino runs out at the end of current album Suck It and See.

* Jamie xx has announced that he’ll be collaborating with film maker Quayola on a brand new audio-visual project to be premiered next week. More info at FACT magazine’s site.

* Canadian rapper Drake has again grabbed headlines after Stevie Wonder joined him on stage at the OVO Festival. You can watch the collaboration on YouTube and it’s also been confirmed that Stevie will appear on Drake’s next album.
