The Drums

The Drums have released a rather weird new video – presumably ahead of new material on YouTube. Titled Portamento, it is pretty grainy with footage of the band performing, cityscapes and POR TA MEN TO flashing up on screen, while the music is eerie synths which wouldn’t be out of place on the X-Files.

After playing a social media mogul in The Social Network, Justin Timberlake has gone a step further by investing in MySpace. As part of Specific Media he has helped buy it out from News Corp, and will see him take an office at their Beverley Hills HQ and have a team of staff working for him. More at the HitFix.

There is a lot of footage flying about from Glastonbury but this looks like one of the more unique offerings. Mumford and Sons strolled into Strummerville and played an acoustic performance, including track The Cave.

M83 has posted an album preview video up on YouTube. Called Echoes, he has said the new double album will feature Zola Jesus and Beck.

And the video for Coldplay’sEvery Teardrop is a Waterfall is about as far removed from the brown mud they saw at Glastonbury with shoots of ambient colour flying everywhere.

Roots Manuva has announced details of his new album – 4everevolution. Coming out on July 26, first taster from the 17-track album is called Watch Me Dance and is free to download from his site.

British Sea Power are set to release a new track Georgie Ray as a digital download on July 25, but you can stream it now on Glasswerk.

Radio Soulwax has launched online as the latest project from Belgium’s Dewaele Brothers. There is currently only one mix up from 2ManyDJs – Introversy squeezes 420 of their favourite song introductions into an hour with accompanying CD artwork on-screen. It is also available as an app on some smart phones.

Details of Zola Jesus’ new album has been getting a lot of traction online. Conatus will come out on September 26, and you can listen to track Vessel now on SoundcloudThis is Fake DIY have all the details.
