Now Playing - Depeche Mode
After years of Fragile Tension between members old and new, it seems all is now at ease on the Depeche Mode front, with the emerging revelation that Vince Clarke and Martin Gore have been working together on a new techno album.
The two were founding members of the Essex based group and Gore took over lead song writing duties from Clarke after he left the band in 1981, but revealed to Billboard how the two have been working on new material for about 9-months now.
Since leaving Depeche Mode, Clarke has been involved in projects such as Yazoo, The Assembly, Erasure and a pioneer in the use of synthesizers in pop music.
After speaking with you, we are going to build the ultimate Depeche Mode related playlist on Now Playing @6Music this Friday. Think anything by the band itself, anything from Vince Clarke’s work since he left the group, collaborators, influences, influencees, and people who have covered them – Johnny Cash for example.
Let us know what you would like to see Tom Robinson play on the show by leaving a comment, joining the debate on Facebook, e-mail us or drag a track onto our Spotify playlist.
Over to you!

Can I please, please, please ask though, that you acknowledge that DM are more than an 80's pop group! They've never stopped releasing new material over these last 30+ years, & have always adapted & at times been at the forefront of music genres.
I've posted your playlist request on the Depeche Mode forum & hope that fellow fans contribute, & show the British listeners that DM continue to make great music to this day.
Cheers & looking forward to the show on Friday

I don't know much about the show, but I think for me the album that really cemented me as a fan was «Some Great Reward». And on that album I think my fav non-single was «It Doesn't Matter». I'd really enjoy hearing that again. Have a great show Friday night!! :)
