Spotify/Virgin partnership due to launch imminently

Quoting a Telegraph source, it seems Spotify and Virgin Media are close to tying up a deal which would see the service provider add an unlimited music package to its internet options. Although, as CMU states, they previously were after an "all-you-can-eat mp3 download service" it seems they have settled for a streaming option (full article). 



Music that is free is here to stay: LimeWire trial update

The attorney representing LimeWire in their copyright infringement case against the Recording Industry Association of America has said making founder Mark Gorton pay the US record industry $1.4 billion in damages would be “unjust” and “wouldn’t change a thing.” LimeWire have been accused of contributing to the 52% decline in music sales over the past ten years. Mobile manufacturer and service provider do deal with Guetta

A leading UK mobile phone manufacturer and service provider have teamed up with French producer David Guetta. The result is users who have the specific handset and the appropriate tariff are able to download an app which provides them with exclusive content – such as videos and tracks (full article).
