Herefordshire & Worcestershire
Well, it's been quite a while since I last updated you on the various goings on in the our part of the Midlands... so here goes in a paragraph...
A bloke who supported the Jam all those years ago got into a Jam tribute band called The Jamm and supported them once again - some 30 years later in London. A man from Hereford got on stage at a Take That concert at the NEC and asked his girlfriend to marry him. What else. Hmmm... Oh yes, loads and loads of bands from our area are currently on tour in Europe - more on this in a couple of weeks time, plus Upton Upon Severn are having a mini music festival this Friday, courtesy of BBC Hereford & Worcester, after they lost their main festival due to the summer flooding. Phew! More at bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcester/floods/
Right... Now onto the Introducing show. We heard a great live session from The Amateurs (their myspace says Birmingham, but they're actually from Kidderminster) plus The Brazilians.
This week on The Friday Session Introducing... we're going to learn how to DJ, in a live on-air workshop run by Lofty of local group Dubmerge. If that's not enough, then we're going to get some tips from one of the world's most respected female DJ's - Lisa Lashes - who plays Worcester on Friday night.
Plus, as always, we'll bring you 100% local music from across the two counties, with a live session from the Golden Valley band, The New Beginning. Oh, and as it's December, let's forget the CDs - and play some of the music recorded in our 50 or so live sessions from 2007!
Join me this Friday night from 7, only on BBC Hereford & Worcester.
