Formed in late 2003, The New Beginning comprise Calum, Daniel Matt and Pete. After their inception, they soon began to build up a repertoire of original songs including 'Philosophy' and 'Let's Go', along with a cover of 'Teenage Kicks' by The Undertones. Help playing audio/video The band began to gig locally, but by the summer of 2004 they felt that they were losing inspiration and took a few months off. New startReturning rejuvenated after their break, 2005 saw a new start for the band, hence the change of name to The New Beginning. With Calum taking over lead vocals, the band began to write more mature songs like 'Caught Up'. ![]() The New Beginning were victorious in the Battle Of The Bands contest at Kingstone High School and appeared in the first Schools Rock Showcase at the Hereford Courtyard. They were also shortlisted for the BBC Midlands Today School Of Rock competition, all at the tender age of 15. DemoThe New Beginning's first demo was recorded at Broad Oak Studios in January 2005 and the follow up will soon be recorded with money supplied by Hereford Music Pool. Influenced by a choice selection of classic guitar bands like of The Undertones, The Who and The Jam, The New Beginning are ready to progress as a band, write more songs and move up to the next level.
