Brigadier Ambrose, Venice, Gringo!

Huw StephensHuw Stephens|01:23 UK time, Thursday, 7 June 2007

This weeks' show is a rollercoaster ride of guitars, beats, rhymes and gentle loveliness...Check out Brigadier Ambrose's quirky guitar pop in session, and brilliant tracks from Sailors and Souvaris on the DIY label of the week - Gringo records fom Nottingham. I tell you what, we didn't half play some ace tunes - Rory Mcvicar, new hip hop from Lowercase from Somerset, electronic wizadry from Orcop and Playace, Middleman from Leeds (the new Hadouken? already?!) Tall Pony and Slow Club, currently on tour with Tiny Dancers.

I'm off to Venice to dj at the Welsh art party on Thursday night - Euros Childs is playing and I can't wait to see him play - he was in Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, a my favourite band ever probably, and well worth checking out if you haven't heard their music. Then on Saturday I'll be djing on a boat on the river Thames in London town for the Green Man festival's Folk in a Boat, with Seasick Steve playing too.

Funeral For a Friend are covering the Radio 1 Wales show this week with loads of rock classics!

Next week on the show - A BIG NEW ANNOUNCEMENT! STAY TUNED !!
