i think its michael moon as they already have a lot of history together, not forgetting their son tommy.

I think it is fatboy because she didnt want him working behind the bar, she got a new phone and he sells and fixes them.. the key was left in a glass on the bar not long ago and his name keeps cropping up..

at first I thought it was massood because when one of them was writing ILOVEYOU in kats lipstick I saw massoods daily bracelet. But now I think its derek because hes been lonely lately and max is with tanya and jack is out with sharon! I DONT KNOW I bet its none of them!!! aha

My guess, is that it's Derek. At first I thought it would be Michael as he declared his love for her on his wedding day. But then having seen Fridays episode, it's not him. I don't know how that someone above ^ Said it's still Michael after seeing that episode, it's clearly shown it isn't him.



Derek doesn't care for Alfie, he never has. And he has a lot of money. So I reckon it's him!



But then again, Max has had some money problems recently with the Car Lot. And he was seen posting a wad of cash in a house, but then it could be a big surprise for Tanya, and after Tanya's cancer, and the hard work Max did to win her back, I doubt he'd make the same mistake again!



I don't think it's jack, I mean he couldn't do that to Alfie, and he likes Sharon a lot. But then again, Alfie did annoy him by making Billy captain and removed captaincy off Jack.



But then again, it could be neither, but then why would Kat look out the window like that. It has to be Derek. Or the unlikely source... Ian Beale anyone?

I was hoping it wasn't Michael and was so pleased after Fridays episode. It would have made sense with their past, I just didn't want it to be :)

I don't think that it is Max, he has enough secrets that's he's trying to hide about his time away, something that Derek keeps reminding him of. Plus I think that even Max isn't that heartless to put Tanya through it again, especially with the cancer storyline, being not that long ago, and the heartache the characters went through.

That leaves Derek and Jack (if we're presuming its not a wild card) I think that Jacks interest in Sharon is genuine, but he has turned into a bit of a player since the divorce. He's not the type to assume that the woman is his, especially as she keeps throwing mixed signals. Also I think it would be quite sweet (forgetting about Alfie for a min) after everything that happened with Tommy and James.

Even more than Michael, I really don't want it to be Derek. I can't remember if Kat knows about what happened with Alfie and Derek while she was away?? Because I don't think she would touch him with a barge pole if she does. Although he does have a fair amount of money (where does he get it all from? I'd like to know???) which would make sense with the flat and gifts. He doesn't know how to love, that's obvious by the way he treats his children. So if it is him, then it's not real love, he'll try to keep her, and treat her like his possession.

As for wild cards.......NO IDEA! Its almost 100% that it's someone on the football team so as a REALLY long shot I say Syed. And not on the football team, I say, Winston. Lol. ;)

I have absolutley no idea who it could be. Though remember rule #1 in soap land: always expect the unexpected. although I don't think it's Derek because there's no way he'd be pushed around by Kat, it would be completely on his terms and he wouldn't keep his mouth shut. he strikes me as the type of person who would take a great amount of pleasure in rubbing Alfie's nose in it.



I doubt that it's Max I know he's been acting a little suspicious recently but i think that's because of what he done when he was off with Derek before he knew Tania had cancer.



It would make sense if it was Jack because of how him and Kat hot a little closer after the whole baby swap was unveiled but then again whoever is having this secret affair with Kat wrote on a banddage that they loved her where as Jack has been persuing Sharon as well as a few other women recently.



So congratulations Eastenders you have me completley and utterly stumped, fairplay to the writers they know how to get their viewers hooked :)

From the start I thought it was Andrew as he's needy, nice, no lady just now and he'd be good to Kat. Alfie wasn't paying her enough attention so, being the character she is, she strayed. Again. And he would have the time for her. He's not been seen much, just often enough to let us remember he's still there. (I think it's a man because of the foot we saw once!)

I used to LOVE Kat, but quite frankly I now couldn't care less about her, she is a dirty dirty horrible person. The story line is boring, I am sick of it and no longer care who she is cheating with I just want her to leave Eastenders for good! Alfie is an adorable character and I feel so sorry for him.

Eastenders have got rid of the suspects 1 by 1. It's not Michael, if you watch Eastenders, you'd know that.

It's not Ray, which is obvious due to the colour of the skin.



The 3 suspects Eastenders are showing are Max, Derek and Jack. As she looked out of the window to them. Now that being the case, they're getting us thinking it's one of them. I'd probably bet a wager on someone that hasn't been onscreen like that. Or just one of the Brannings.

I too think that its Fat Boy. Why? Because after the fight at the Vic Kat was tending to her lover. You saw him stroke her face. The hand was that of a young and dark person. Obviously not any of the Branning brothers hands.

I said from day one that it is Derek that Kat is having the affair with because he has money to give out and i don't think it is max because he has no money and he need to pay for a wedding and he also has to many affairs in Eastenders and i also don't think its jack because he is with sharon. so i am saying its DEL-BOY aka (Derek) :P

Why is there so much emphasis on the branning brothers? Also I don't believe its Masood as the hand which we keep seeing was not asian! I agree with some of the other comments that its probably someone we least expect. And I actually believe it could be TYLER or TYLER'S DAD!

I loathe Kat’s character so much and I can’t wait until she leaves EE. This storyline is a damp squib and the sooner it ends the better.

I fear it will be dragged until Christmas though.



The writing is dreadful and contrived. As if Max or Jack would give Kat their time of the day or long to have a quick bunk up with her, or do this to Alfie. She is so trashy and revolting. It is idiotic how we are supposed to believe their phones will be ringing all at the same time, that they are all suddenly flirting with Kat whom they have never ever have any interest in before, spending most of their time in the pub when they supposedly have businesses to run. I despair to state of the programme at the moment, quality of writing and storytelling. Is it written by children?



I wish EE would keep to character consistency and not change them every episode to fit the plot.

I think it is not one of the brothers but someone from her past, and that could be any one of hundreds with her past history. I think she started this affair when she was "looking after Charlie" recently.

-Max is the obvious one when it comes to buying love nests for his bit on the side, however he is pretty tight for money atm so could he afford a flat? Plus he has a big storyline coming up at xmas to do with his 'secret' so I doubt he'd be given this storyline too..



-Jack is bit too busy with Sharon, and other week he had two air hostesses, so would he have time to be doing kat aswell?

I believe the person who she is having the affair with is not what everyone believes it to be, which is a man. i believe its a woman and i think its going to be Tanya Branning. We shall see!

When reviewing the August 31, 2012 episode I noticed that the guy that may have written,

"I Love You" on the bandage had on a light green polo shirt. In a scene in the pub JACK had on that same colored shirt.



Also, when Kat returned to the Vic after being thrown out by Alfie, Jack and his brothers were the last lot in the pub. Jacks body language, facial expressions and the way he asked Kat a question gave it away.



Max has too much going on with his money issues. (still haven't figured that out yet)



And Derek is just a grease ball, loud mouth, fat ass. I highly doubt Kat would even give him a second thought much less a look!! Ewwwwwww

There is NO way it's Jack. The only feelings he has for Kat are brotherly, we've seen it many times. He doesn't fancy her and the arm that we saw after the fight had a suit jacket on it.

It is Fatboy. For definite, unless there is a last-minute change of plot. The bed bugs, the mobile phone, he was in the bar fight and Kat was purposely snubbing him in front of Alfie - those are the clues which will be focused on in the reveal episode.

I still think it's Max and my reason is that whenever the football team or any/all the suspects got together in the Vic, they all would look at Kat and smile or wink at her except for Max. Max would either be paying attention to his drink, phone or his cigarette and NOT paying any attention to Kat at all.. Plus as we have seen in the past Max is the kind of guy who would set up another flat to house his affairs. But Max leaving a message on Kat's phone saying I Love You is definitely not something Max would do. He's just a hit it and quit it kind of guy. There's also the possibility that it's nobody on the show currently and some new guy will pop up and be Kat's lover.

It can't be any of the 5 suspects, because when her mystery fellow come to the back of the pub one night when the affair first started, she said no to him and told him to go, but quickly changed her mind and called him back, but she did mention something like, I don't want to get hurt by you again, so it has to be someone she has been with before, and out of the 5 she has only been with Michael, and we know its not him. So it has to be someone who she has been with before like, the delivery driver, gary(Lynn's ex), her uncle Harry (which I doubt), Anthony trueman. She has never been with ray, max, Derek or jack before so it can't possibly be them, unless eastenders have made a cock up with their story lines and forget this scene happened(the back door scene about not getting hurt again by him).

It's so blatantly Derek. It's been obvious from the start, they have just littered it with as many red herrings as possible. It aint gonna be Max, his secret is whatever he got up to in Manchester and thats what will wreck the wedding in December no doubt. Plus he was busy away posting money when Kat was meeting her lover in one episode. He's the biggest red herring of all. Jack would just be a complete bore if it was him. And Kat has been around both of them for a while in the show now - what two years? It doesn't really make sense she would just all of a sudden just fall for either of them without there being some sort of hint before. Derek...we haven't seen him with a woman yet (bar Rainie), he has motive for Alfie stitching him over the booze, he's got the money for the flat, and just generally the reveal with him would be much, much more interesting. Half the reason she refused to tell Alfie his name was because any confrontation with Derek probably wouldn't end well for Alfie! There has also been some very subtle clues/dialogue in certain episodes. I really hope they don't drag the identity out until Christmas now, at least have the viewer finding out in the next month or so and then Alfie at Xmas, otherwise it really will be testing the viewers patience.

I have just watched the playback of the fight and kat bandaging her lovers hand up, and the hand looked slightly dark in colour, but that could have been the light. The hand was fat and chunky with short stumpy fingers, and no watch on. Max, jack and ray have slim hands, so that counts them out, the only other 4 biggish men are Derek, fatboy, masood and phill who were all wearing watches. But it's not who I thought first, which was someone from her past who was coming back in the show and was sneaking around without anyone knowing that he was back in the square. Because when kat was bandaging his hand Alfie walked in and didn't look suspicious that they was upstairs in the pub, which also made me think it was phill or fanboy. Because anyone else would have looked suspicious being up there. And also the hand she was bandaging had no rings, bracelets or watches on and that counts out all the 5 usual suspects.
