Just when you started to dip after the excitement of the British Soap Awards... along comes the TV Choice Awards to rescue you from your lacklustre lull. Hooray!

EastEnders are not only up for the Best Soap gong, but are also nominated in four other categories.

These awards are really important too, as they're voted for entirely by YOU!

Will EastEnders bag the Best Soap award for a consecutive time? We hope so!

Check out the list of categories that your top notch soap are nominated in. You can vote for your favourites through the TV Quick & TV Choice website.

Best Soap Actor

Shane Richie (Alfie Moon), Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell) and Nitin Ganatra (Masood Ahmed) are our nominees for Best Actor. Which of these talented studs gets your acting accolade?

Best Soap Actress

It's been a strong year for the women of Walford and these ladies have been heavily hit by the drama. The nominees up for a gong in this category are Jessie Wallace (Kat Moon), Nina Wadia (Zainab Masood) and Lindsey Coulson (Carol Jackson).

Best Newcomer

Jacqueline Jossa (Lauren Branning), Steve John Shepherd (Michael Moon) and Ace Bhatti (Yusuf Khan) are all newbies to the Square and have made their mark in their own unique way! Who will be shortlisted in this category?

Best Soap Storyline

The following storylines have been hard-hitting, dramatic and emotional for not only the Square residents, but us fans too. The trio of stories that have tugged on our heartstrings have all been nominated in this category:

  • Ronnie swaps her baby for Kat's

Yusef tries to destroy the Masoods

Whitney is exploited at the hands of Rob

The deadline for all of YOUR entries is Friday, 10 June.

Share the love for your faves on our Facebook and Twitter page.

FIRST! I reckon Michael Moon should win newcomer and Baby swap the best story line. Best actor is definitely Alfie for me and best actress Kat!

I hate to say this but I sometimes wonder if these awards or just awards in general are a popularity contest. For instance Kat and Alfie are HUGELY popular with the EastEnders audience and as a couple have a massive following, but this doesn't necessarily mean they are the best actors. I've nothing against Jessie or Shane as actors and they are very good. Some actors are always overlooked when it comes to awards - Steve McFadden was always overlooked until recently, Jake Wood is one of the best actors the show has ever seen and rarely gets a nomination. Not forgetting the departing Sam Womack - always overlooked yet constantly overlooked, yet she gave a mindblowingly good performance when Ronnie swapped Tommy and James.

I really think Lindsey Coulson deserves an award. For me, she is a truly sensational actress and the scenes where Carol found Billie dead back in October were chilling and so realistic. Also, with Patsy out of the show at the moment and Sid departing in a few months time, how long will she be in the show for? I hope she sticks around for a long time - she deserves it, what incredible talent. Steve gets my Best Actor vote - truly incredible, whether it's normal day-to-day scenes with Phil and Shirley in the kitchen, with Rainie on crack, or being violent towards Ben, he knocks every performance out of the park. Incredible. Best Newcomer has to be the fantastic Ace Bhatti playing Dr Yusef, what a conviving character, but utterly brilliant. It was a tough desicion because the new Lauren is fantastic, and Michael Moon is good too. Best storyline has to be the Baby Swap, only EastEnders could do a truly sad and emotional story like this well.

Good Luck to EastEnders and I look forward to hearing the results in September!

I really hope Steve McFadden gets it. Wonder why Jake Wood wasn't nominated between him and Steve they are the best actors on Eastenders.

Personally I think Shane should win best actor as he brings the mood up in every scene and is generally an amazin actor. For the title of best actress I think Nina should win out of the three as she brings heaps of emotion to the storylines and in someways make you feel sorry for her. Although I think Samantha Womack should win as she's been given alot of 'Fragile' storylines shall we say and has handled them really good, aswell as acted them out perfectly. Since she's been in EE every storyline she's played a part in has been a sucess. I know i'm rantinon but i think she's a really underated actress and should be given an award, Nuff said'. I think Steve should win best newcomer as he's brought alot of tension and i think has alot of good storylines to come.

Also without doubt the best storyline is the baby swap. the writers took a risk of airing it but succeeded as far as i'm concerned. Not only that but sometimes you get bored of soaps copying each other. This was original.

I love Shane Ritchie and Alfie but best actor? Jake Wood should be there all the way, he is incredible! Sam Womack should be up too she is a chilling and emotive actress and has had such tough and emotional stories with Ronnie she deserves some recognition.

  • Comment number 12.

The Best Soap Actor should go to Shane Richie as Alfie Moon.

The Best Soap Actress should go to Jessie Wallace as Kat Moon although Nina Wadia as Zainab Masood is very outstanding perhaps they can share it.

The Best Newcomer should go to Ace Bhatti as the evil Doctor Yusuf Khan.

Why isn't Ricky Norwood up for best newcomer!! so shocked :o

    best actor-Steve McFadden!!

    best actress-Jessie Wallace

I have already voted and I have only voted for people in eastenders as I love this show! I hope all of the people below win an award :)

BEST SOAP ACTOR: Shane Richie (Alfie Moon)

BEST SOAP ACTRESS: Jessie Wallace (Kat Moon)

BEST NEWCOMER: STEVE JOHN SHEPHERD (Michael Moon)

BEST SOAP STORYLINE: Ronnie swaps her baby for Kats

Even though there has been many complaints about that storyline, I still think it should win because soaps are about drama and it has never been seen on a soap before. I think that all the actors and actresses involved in this storyline are brilliant at acting and they should all win something for doing so well. Also I think that Ronnie (Samantha Womack) should get an award because she has been amazing and has put up with a lot of sad storylines, it never turns out well for her so I hope that the people I have voted for wins an award! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
