In February, we announced that Margaret Tyzack would be joining the cast to take on the role of Lydia Simmonds, but due to a personal matter she's finished filming earlier than planned.

EastEnders' Executive Producer, Bryan Kirkwood adds: "In order to continue the current storyline we've taken the decision for Heather Chasen to take over the role of Lydia."

Heather's recent roles include Holby City,Doctors and Family Affairs and also the 2011 film Cat Run.

Welcome to Walford Heather! Let's hope she can control that scheming Janine as her grandma, Lydia. What do ya reckon?

Sorry to hear Margaret Tyzack is out - I hope she is OK. I remember Heather Chasen from Crossroads (I'm so old!) and I think she'll be good fun.

I also hope that Ms Tyzack is OK, and wish her well. I met her in the mid 90's in my shop in Covent Garden, and she popped back every now & then to catch me up on her activities. She was always charming & had some good advice for my own acting career; she is no doubt a loss, as she makes a great baddie. Good luck Margaret.

Heather also appeared (as Jane) in Season of Mists, an Anglo-Russian feature film which I co-produced in 2009. This film is set to receive its UK premiere on 20th April 2011 at the Odeon Covent Garden in London.

Just want to let the Staff of Eastenders know that whoever created the latest Game they ended up making a mistake on question:

    9. What causes Max and Abi's car crash?

They put the answer as : * A woman stepping out into the road*

.......it wasn't a Woman, it was a MAN - the same MAN that went to help Abby after she got out of her Dad Max's smashed car, the only woman that was in that scene was the woman that found Abby's mobile phone which was on the ground near the open car door, it was ringing and she answered it to tell Lauren what had happened. So, just wanted to bring this mistake to the attention of whoever created the latest game in the GAMES section. Hope the Game creator can get all the correct information together first before they create any games.
