I feel the latest story line with Kat , Ronnie etc is just awful. How would anyone not know their own baby both mum and dad would be able to identify the child straight away. It is the weakest and most furstrating story line in the history of the programme and an insult to viewers intelligence . It is also disturbing for people who have suffered the death of a child . I am disappointed with the writers in creating such a story line

i think that the story is not realistic as i am sure the hospital would investicate the death by a post mortem or take the dna of the baby. also the police will test the matress and the things they took away. it would have been a brilliant story line if both babies had lived or if the babies had been swapped by accident. too depressing!!!

can i just say, well done eastenders!! i have the greatest respect for both jessie and sam, as well as the other cast involved in this harrowing storyline.congratulations to you all in your respectful protrayal of families affected by SIDS. i am very sorry to hear that sam feels she must leave the show allegedly due to harsh comments and wish her all the best in her furture carrer. however.. this IS a fictional programme and storyline. can the audience please bear this in mind? as a character, Ronnie has had a terrible life, abusive parents, attention seeking sister, the tragic loss of her first child- both at birth and again last year. it's amazing she has held it together this long! and to suffer the tragedy of losing a baby is beyond words. Ronnie's grief and desperation have caused her to take another child. i dont condone this in any way but i can understand her grief. she is also showing great remorse for her actions but now feels trapped by the circumstances. also.. Kat and Alfie have barely seen thier son since his birth as Kat has been rushed back into hospital and Alfie left running around so no, i dont believe they would be able to reconise a baby they have barely had a chance to know. so, audience..get a grip. its a story we were all warned about well in advance if you didnt agree with why did you watch these episodes? keep up good work eastenders.

omg its only a soap...... Sam Womak is playing the storyline brilliantly they all are, I believe this is just the kind of thing the character Ronnie would do in her state of mind and after everything she has been through and wouldn't have expected anything less from Eastenders. I don't believe this is the only reason Sam Womak is leaving and look 4ward to hearing her statement. Well done Eastenders still my top soap continue the great work.

'It's only a soap'? Soaps are a mirror of real life. Sometimes as in the bipolar story line they open up discussion and help to overcome taboos. Bipolar disorders affect a significant number of people who deserve to be better understood. That is not the case here. What particularly shocked me is that it was apparently thought up by scriptwriters who do not themselves have children and could not imagine the effect the plot might have on parents who had lost a child to SIDS. I am shocked that the BBC saw fit to screen it.

with regard to (specifically poppy's post a few hours ago, (but also to all the other complainants)im sorry dear, but soaps are not a mirror of real life. they are written and produced for entertainment purposes. it's true that many have adopted real issues to portray. in my opinion this is an excellent practice. but also, they include many light hearted topics as well. many issues have been covered in soap land for many years, and some have been more realistic than others but all of them necessary to introduce topics to the public. in my limited knowledge of many soaps there have been gay relationship, HIV and AIDS, murders, incest, rape, plane crashes and tram crashes, just to mention a few. some of these storylines have challenged bigot minded viewers and some have been covered following real life events. however, as i mentioned earlier, these ARE only stories. i sincerely hope that whatever Sam Womack's reasons for leaving the show, she will take some comfort from the viewers who openly support her work and this storyline. lets face it.. i have heard there are more than 6000 complaints of these story hurled at the eastenders writers and cast, but this programme is watched by millions every episode, so there are obviously many more open minded viewers NOT complaining. also, how could you possibly know which of the writers are parents??? as i said earlier, eastenders is FICTIONAL! so if you dont agree with the plots, dont watch them. but more to the point, dont be forcing someone out of their job just because you dont like what they do.

I Used To Love Eastenders And Now All The Good Characters Are Leaving.

tbh I Dont Think Im Going To Watch It For Much Longer.

And I Dont See Any1 Complaining About Normal Deaths.......

You Are All Complaining Too Much Its Just A Show. X

It is disgusting and lacks professionalism to use such an emotional disaster of baby cot death in Eastenders. I will never watch it again unless the BBC apologises and cuts short the storyline and retains Sam. I say well done Sam for standing up against this storyline. Will the BBC never stop using such aweful emotional issues that they know little about or they would never have used this story. What will be next ? Maybe the queen being raped or the pope having sex with his niece. Sack your copywriter if you do no want to lose viewers

im finding alot of people commenting are talking about the roonie and kat storyline being depressing which i couldnt agree more. i think the storyline is really thoughtout however! The storyline is much other from existing and previous storylines that have been used in the past. we shouldnt be moaning about such a great soap on television , we should be embracing that we have such a great soap! jessi wallace (kat) im so glad your back you eintertain me i love your emotion you put into the acting :)

this storyline about kat and ronnie i feel is disturbing and i think you have ruined the soap.but hopefully when this storyline is finished i can get back to enjoying this soap.but i feel you didn't need to add the swap the cot death would of been enough and you could just left the rest.
