Such a great show tonight. It was really sad such a shame to see Peggy go hope they bring her back it so not going to be the same without her. The music at the end was so sad neally set me off. You could tell that when she was saying goodbye to everyone they was real tears being shead it wasnt acting.

that was so sad! she's going to be missed, it's not going to be the same, lets just hope the rest of the mitchells can stay strong!

it was so sad to see peggy leave makes want to cry and the fire on thursday made me shake!

I cried when Peggy Left, sad moment and the Peggys theme was brilliant, i'll miss you Babs but hey on the plus side Shane Richie is coming back and he's adorable. xD

Firstly, please let me thank the BBC's Eastenders cast and scriptwriters for showing the best comedy I have watched all year. The burning of the Vic episode had my husband and myself holding on to our stomachs rocking with laughter. Eastenders is not known for having many 'light' moments, but this episode was on a par with one of the Brian Rix farces with lots of people running around and going nowhere. On top of that, tonights episode revealed that no-one died, no-one was hurt in the crush whilst attempting to get out of the inferno, no-one suffered serious smoke inhalation and no-one had any serious burns (except for a few minor marks on Phil's face). Can I become your script writer? Giz a job.

I'm really sad Peggy has left and i was really emotional but i think she should have died as it would have been more memorable and would have properly marked her exit :) x

Going to miss you Barbara i watched your carry on films all my life and and your eastenders life, Have a happy and cheerful retirement and all the best for the years to come!! Eastenders wont be the same anymore without "The Queen of The Vic" no one will ever replace you your fab!! Love the fact Kat and Alfie are coming back though!

it is so sad to see peggy leave and i really hope she will come back for a few series or maybe more.there is not going to be no other landylady like peggy.the exit was really nice and i nearly cryied but maneged to keep the tears in.

EastEnders has just lost a Legend ! I love Peggy very much I am so sad she is gone . I wish Babs all the best for the future hope to see her back in EE one day even if it is just a one-off appearance . Also like to say a big well done to the cast and crew of EastEnders they did a fabulous job this week ! Keep it up!

Can't believe the little blonde bombshell has gone :'( Peggy Mitchell will always be the "Queen of The Vic" No-One will ever pull off the famous 'Get outta my pub' line like Babs did. Soooo glad they didn't kill her off too. Such a great loss to EE. Well done to cast and crew that been involved in this week episodes.

i have been really really touched by the last 2 epesodes of eastenders. the fire was amazing and i found my self crying hahahaha! Stacy Peggy and Phill have been excelent and have played their roles soo well! and deserves awards.



Tonights epesode i cryed lol all the way through and peggys acting was awesome and classy in a way. thank you soo much to all the eastenders crew for giving possibly two of the best epesodes ever in soaps that i have seen in a extreemly long time! sorry for my bad spelling and gramma bahaha.



cant express how impressed i am and how well you all can act! just amazing

I'v watched peggy mitchell since she started in eastenders all those 16 years ago. What a character and it was so sad to watch the queen of eastenders walk away am just glad she has the opening if she wishes to come back she will be missed.

OMG

eastenders will never be the same again.peggy was the heart and sole of albert square.but anyway the mitchells must go on. i hope phill comes off the drugs now hes seen what he has driven his mum to.long live peggy x

it was so sad to see Peggy leave, she could of stayed with her family and looked after phil and waited for ben to come out of prison and the vic could of been rebuilt! but she left with that yellow bag, leaving her bestfriend Pat, and her beloved family behind and the QUEEN VIC!! she is the heart of eastenders and she always will be, but im gonna miss her so much :(! im going to miss hearing "GET OUTTA MA PUB!" it always cracks me up when i ever i see her say that !

I wish she could of stayed longer, shes always been my favourite character :) the Mitchels will never be complete again with Peggy :'( !

and whats Pat gonna do without Peggy?! i think thats what the saddest thing about it is!

But the best thing is, is that she didnt die, she just left, so that means the doors are still always going to be open, whether or not barbra returns, it would be nice to see her burst through the doors again!

Please make a comeback in the future babs!

Eastenders will never be the same without our favourite landlady :'(!

WOW, Eastenders just isnt going to be the same, it feels like apart of my life as I watch it religiously, I actually cried my heart out, hugging a pillow, lol I know its sad, my fiance just looked at me like I was a loony.

Anyway Bab's good luck with what ever you do in the future, you will be missed by millions,there is no actress or actor that will be able to take your place, Im sure everyone hopes that you will come back in the future.

I take it Peggy managed to save some clothes from the vic stuffed down the back of her red suit, worn for janines reception, as she appears to have obtained black trousers and a top plus a grey cardie from somewhere for the next day! meanwhile Billy is still in his charred clothing!

Instantaneously Carry on Camping and The Queen Vic say Barbara Windsor.

Warm & bubbly on screen and in real life. You can see that at all the award ceremonies,on chat shows etc. We all know you've worked hard all your life, time to look after you for a bit. Though so glad to have just read after a bit of Googling on "The Sun" online today 12/9/10 that you will be back to E/Enders! (we hope true).



Such a touching and v emotional last episode. Like a lot of people writing on this blog, I shed many a tear!! Peggy's realisation that she's not always right brought out her other very seldom seen side, `mild-manneredness`. The fire gave her such a shock&reality check on how v short life is.



I think there was a lot of Babs in this week of last episodes, but especially so in her last 15 minutes onscreen. Those last scenes with the Mitchell family and definitely with Phil were so real. I bet she couldnt contain herself in that last scene with Phil, those tears,that kiss were for real I'm sure. It must take quite alot of adapting to go from being around this family of actors everyday.



Anyhow again, especially those last 15 mins conveyed so well elements of London, the East End and people of Babs' generation's childhood. That toughness,sacrifice,suffering,survival but also love and heart that was around in 'the good ol' days'! (I'm 47 so don't know it first-hand, but do so second-hand from my Mother&Father& their families and their stories. I'm a North Eastener but am sure those characters of those days were nationwide). Peggy's lines were subtle, understated but beautifully and cleverly delivered. So well acted, the East End, London and all those tough but lovable characters were so tangigle.



Clever touches again by the writers, like how they dress Vanessa (Zoe Lucker) in Gold and then fade to the bust of Queen Victoria. Then, the yellow bag Peggy carries at the end. Peggy was such a ray of sunshine in this show (as is Babs as a person) that this was v apt. Also wonder if as Babs is a Leo, ruled by the sun, she actually chose this colour herself?? Would be interesting to know. (Not obsessed by soaps, just v observant!!)



&so the Eastenders torch will still be carried by Ian and Dot, the main two remaining originals, closely followed by Pat. & still the writers keep breathing new life, new twists and turns into Eastenders (eg return of Kat and Alfie, stories such as that of Stacey and Ryan's baby could run and run. Who knows what it'l be like when these new babies are teenagers etc). Keep up the superb writing. Long live the soaps, we need some levity in what can be sometimes a tough world!

I was Crying Watching Peggy Leave when she was saying all her goodbye's. but i'm glad she wasn't Killed off because now she can come and visit xxxxxxxxxxxx

Sorry BBC, but I have to say I was really disappointed by Friday's episode. It just seemd like Babs Windsor got to indulge herself in a big farewell and it was all about her and the cast. It was pointless and offered nothing to the audience. I thought it was completely unrealistic and boring.

I hope the future of Albert Square will offer more entertainment!
