This week on EastEnders: Money, money, money

Nickie|20:30 UK time, Friday, 18 December 2009

Must be funny in a rich man's world. Doesn't look like anyone round Walford way's going to be getting much first hand experience of that any time soon... unless they're in cahoots with Archie Mitchell.

Bankrupt Brannings

Abi Branning

Spare a thought for poor Max and Abi who had to get by on nothing but cous cous, pesto and kidney beans this week. That'll teach Tanya for having such bourgeois taste in food. If Shirley walked out, Heather and George would have enough tinned pies to live on for a fortnight. Abi was compelled to hand over her savings to pay her Dad's debts and gave away her cat to save money on pet food/vets bills. If Santa were to pop down the chimney she'd have his boots pawned before his belly'd squeezed through the flue.

Cash-strapped Masoods

Zainab and Masood

Mas finally broke it to Zainab that his £80-a-week sickness benefit wouldn't cover her plans to pave the Square with onyx for Syed's wedding. She took it surprisingly well and started shaving zeros off her wedding budget. However, after sizing up Mas's torso she was later overheard consulting Mo about how much human organs fetch on the black market. Lucky that Amira came up with her Dad's cash or else Mas might have woken up with an abdominal scar that hadn't been there the night before...

Mitchells on the make

Ronnie and RoxyThe Mitchells will have to sell a lot of £8.95 Christmas lunches to pay off their debt. Instead they sold 67 which was still more bums than there are seats in the Vic. Fortunately, they managed to rent out the community centre and rope in a fire-eating Aunt Sal to help. Phil also flogged the Arches for £79k. But it was too little too late, because...

Blackmailed Beale

Janine and IanPoor Ian, terrified that his sex tape would fall into the wrong hands* finally caved in to Archie and Janine's campaign to sell them the Mitchell loan. Janine immediately swanned across to the Vic in order to admire how her new engagement ring sparkles in the lights of her new home. And before the ink's dry on Peggy's divorce papers. Some people.

* If it fell into ours, we'd release it and pitch it against Joe McElderry/Rage Against The Machine for Christmas number 1

I don't feel sorry at all for Max and Abi. Max has caused his own problems by his illegal business activities and Abi has shown no loyalty whatsoever to her mother.

I've got soooo much to say about Eastenders and I hope that what I'm about to say is thought about deeply by Eastenders producers. Firstly I've heard about Sonya, Carol, Robbie and Billy coming back. That is great news considering that it's been a while since a good old face has returned to the square. As for other storylines e.g Max and Abi and their (money problems) The mitchell's losing the Vic, Janine and Archie gaining the Vic, Lucas killing Owen and Tony being sent down. They are ok story lines but not gripping enough. Viewers are beginning to lose interest in the show. We need to see big things happen... Maybe Grant coming back to save the Mitchell's and get the vic back.

To see Janine behind the bar, knowing she has charge of the Vic will not go down well with viewers. The vic belongs to the Mitchell's end of. Maybe a shock buyer in to the Archers... Sharon maybe?... returning with her child? The Slaters are another family in need of help. The family was at it's best when Kat, Zoe, Little Mo and Lynne were about. It could be that Kat gets news of Stacey's illness and comes back to look after her with Alfie in toe? Zoe would be great back on the square! When Tanya returns, maybe a definate ending of her marraige to Max is on the table? It's beginning to become boring constantly seeing the pair break up and back together. The story line with Darren being baby George's dad is pretty awful, Could you honestly not think of any better storylines for him?

Lucas needs to be revealed as a killer and quick, the viewers will appreciate a big juicy story like that. Maybe even Chelsea being the one that catches him out? A random return of Ruby Allen would be fun to see. Maybe she can try getting R&R for herself? After Archie departs... maybe even Janine finds shes pregnant with his child? And as for Ronnie... she deserves to be happy... give her character a break! So much bad stuff can only happen to one person, and your sorta pushing it.. alot. We need to see the return of many old faces for new and better storylines. Since the return of Ricky and Bianca every one just wants them to get back together. It's what the viewers want.. if they get... they'll watch more and more will watch. Maybe a baby on the cards for Stacey and Bradley?

If any of these ideas and storylines sound good to you heres my email address,

Max is a very naughty boy indeed, but if it wasn't for this pesky credit crunch, he would have got away with it...

By jove, Steven those are some storylines and an 'alf. Thanks for sending them in. EastEnders doesn't accept ideas on storylines for the programme. Only the regular team of writers and script editors on the programme work on the storylines.

So.... who knows what they have up their sleeves for the next few months in Walford. Guess we'll just have to sit tight and see what unfolds!
