Hi brearey, is that a picture of McNair in the box?

Tom's Box! oohh! What's inside! Stake and chips anyone and....huh? What's that! Something to make a bomb!

You could even transform it into a small swimming pool

doesn't much look like bombe-making-stuff, only vampire-killing stuff and mementos, and a book, a journal?

A question is.



What's in the journal?

A book, possibly a Bible? Plenty of stakes, a bottle of Holy Water and a picture of McNair.

Tom should put up that photo of McNair, there'd be 2 pictures of werewolves loved and lost :(

A block with a crucifix on, something which looks like McNair's Bible (from the dogfight rescue), lots of hand-carved stakes (with ingrained bloodstains), holy water, hankie full of fangs (and necklace), photo which I think is of McNair (goodness know when that was taken).

Bottle of cooking oil - very nice postcard of a Cross. .. The pic is the bottom half of the 'Tom's Wall of Dreams' pic.

Sackcloth (maybe a bag), and some whittled wolves, one complete the other not started.

A wolf head - is it on a stake?



Now the book. Journal/Bible is not in the best condition the bindings a bit loose.

Well it is a funny olive-oil brown looking water under the magnifying glass - but hey, I'm easy - holy water...

It's more of a survival kit. Or as Haz says 'How to Kill Vampires' starter kit.

Ooh, I'd forgotten about Tom's penchant for whittling. Would have thought Eve's cot would be surrounded by little figures. Still, maybe the rota keeps him too busy these days!

Maybe Tom should teach Hal to whittle, it would certainly keep him busy and give him another distraction.

@BigBadDog whittling would be a bit messy for Hal, I think he'd rather do his origami :)

But he could some really good detail work. And tidy up nicely afterwards.

@BigDoggy - think a dog is always good for Children growing up, Think a Bull terrier would suit Tom,(Make him a bit of a Bill Sykes like) but he'd have trouble training it " Bad Dog!! Sorry Hal, hes eaten your dominoes again". Maybe a cuddly retriever or bloodhound fro tracking OOs etc

Didnt Mcnair whittle wood. That block with the face could either be Mcnairs last drawn peice or it would be the start of Tom attempting to whittle Mcnairs face out of wood.



Those steaks don't look rare or medium just very well done.

30. I'm not so sure lycan, i think Tom has his heart set on a Labrador! Maybe even a little scruffy 57 varieties would do. I'm sure he'd be happy regardless.



He'd need to get a puppy, don't think a grown dog would take to him. Remember the dog that barked at George when he ran through the woods looking for a place to transform? Series 1 ep 1 i think.

Of course the even cheaper version of the vamp slaying kit is a tree and a knife.

If Tom did get a dog; it would be quite handy for fetching great big sticks he can carve into stakes.



Prehaps the boys could compromise and do some pottery, more manly than origami and tidier than whittling!



I wonder if we'll ever see Hals full routine? I think a great resistance exercise would be sitting in front of a sheet of bubble wrap. The urge to pop those little bubbles is even stronger than knocking over dominoes!

Lol @ alice. Can you imagine them both doing pottery? They could always recreate 'that' scene from Ghost if any Doctors or Social Services decide to call!

I don't think hal will be too happy if he finds that box, especially the vampire fang necklace! It would be a nice hobby for tom, annie and hal to sit around the table having a go at whittling, you know when eve's asleep..

With bubble wrap it's quite possible he would chew his arms off to stop popping. Noise. Then tidy up afterwards.With his feet. However ... could be useful and could make money in the rehab vampire world... tension sheet..(paint it red..Dwarf..)

I've just watched 'Game of Thrones' over the last two nights. I want to get the books now.

Half savoury pancakes (chilli), half sweet (grapes). Book is Cricket Sings: A Novel of Pre-Columbian Cahokia, by Kathleen King - don't get much time to read (too many lecture notes) so am progressing very slowly despite being a fast reader.

The Kia-Ora incident was probably a long time ago, so maybe it was back in the days of that colouring (tartrazine? Is that still in orange Smarties?) Would hyper Hal clean maniacally or obsess more than usual? Or would he just turn into Bad Hal for a few hours, so that Pearl had to tie him up with Leo's straps?

I was wondering that too about holy water, don't recall it being mentioned before.

Maybe I'll have to get a focus group together and market bubble wrap therapy for vamps. Not sure the bubble wrap would make it there though, I have no will power.

Kia-Ora too orangey for crows, too orangey for vampires. In my head crows=vampires but thats probably cause I read too much. Haven't a clue what it would do to him, though I'd love to see!

Also.... I think if George was still around that he'd remember Tom's 21st! He was much more in touch with humanity... The 3 left don't have any real connection. Tom didn't really grow up as part of humanity. Hal is a vampire.... and Annie is caught up with her own life, she's not grounded enough with the rest of humanity to remember the simple things like birthdays....

Hi BBD, nope not abandoned just dealing with the curse of the green box! I think in the US series the characters have different names - the only one I know is the vampire is called Aiden as a tribute to the fab AT.



@Robert I don't know if they had no connection - they're all coping with recent bereavement, they all need people - Tom wants a family, Annie needs people to fill her life and Hal needs people to keep him stable... is that enough?

Eve's 1st birthday gift... hmmm... inflatable ring so she can go in Tom's swimming pool? (under supervision of course!)

@Robert, great idea for Tom, do you think he'd support Wolves? He needs some mates his own age and a break from the intensity of Annie with Eve and Hal with his 'condition'!

Ever heard of hyperfocus? Maybe that's what happens to Hal on Kia-Ora. He does the dominoes at top speed, breaks something while exercising and gets extra-angry if his Rota is interrupted...

@ a0k, Never heard of hyperfocus but sounds like a possibility if Hal drinks the dreaded Kia-Ora! Surely it wasn't mentioned in the script as just a throwaway remark. They'll have to explore it. Annie should've asked more about it!

Hyperfocus is why people with ADHD will concentrate really hard on things they're interested in, almost to the point of obsession (but short-lived). They have to concentrate hard to stay focused anyway, and they sort of overdo it.



I think TVTropes is right to list the Kia-Ora line under "The Noodle Incident" - some incident in the past which is never actually detailed (same as George's "I'm not going paintballing, not again. Not after last time.")



Hal did say in his letter that he didn't like small animals at all (we know he's scared of spiders) - maybe small dogs give him flashbacks to the miniature circus (with its dogs in hats drinking tea)?

Oh well, nevermind! - It's a worthwhile thing to think about, I suppose :D BigBadDog I agree with you! - Surely they wouldn't have mentioned something that was soo evidently important to Annie if it wasn't meant to pop-up later? Lets hope soo! I suspect everyone's curious to find out..

Oh and to further the conversation about the Kia-Ora.. (can I post two comments in a row?) I can just see Hal having a serious giggle-fit or something similarly unexpected when he drinks that stuff. Remember he may be a Vampire but as a person from the 1500s he wouldn't be great with all the additive-foody-stuffs we have now! Ha. Sorry, I will try to post more serious comments in the future :p

I'm enjoying this series so much I felt like I was being unfaithful to our original trio, so I'm rewatching season 2, have reached the part where George and Mitchell are upset the Real Hustle has been moved and here's Mitchell in marigolds....

This blog does take some severe twists and turns at times but thats half the fun!

A giggle fit would be funny, or spouting rude limericks, or doing impressions...something unexpected and unHal but not quite Lord Harry.

Funnily enough oleta, i've started watching series 1 all over again, i almost forgot how funny it could be at times. George has had his first 'date' with Nina and is worried she might prefer the wolf to him!



This series is really different but the script writing and acting are so good this show could go on for years. I thought it'd be dead in the water without 2 thirds of the original cast.

Am going off to my den now, might have time to drop in on the blog tomorrow morning before lectures (notes and so on will mean that I won't be very active here tomorrow).

Yeah, it was a lot funnier - in series 1, particularly! But I have to agree that the way it's been moved on means it could run on a lot longer - Mitchell, George Annie and Nina couldn't have lasted for much longer than it did, no matter how much we would have loved it to! I love what they've done with it, and I love the new cast. Can't complain really, it's still a brilliant show and one of the highlights of my week, just as it always was! :)

I love that one! I am really enjoying this season, I think last season felt over-shadowed by knowing AT was leaving , and I think osme of the story lines had to be rushed. I still loved it more than anything else on TV but it isn't my favourite series.



It was weird that when I heard it was George and Mitchell leaving I was worried, but once I knew Nina was leaving too, I felt much more optimistic. Not because I didn't like Nina as a character, but because I felt that a reboot with just Annie would be fresh, while just adding on another character would be very hard to do well, plus I couldn't see Nina EVER accepting another Vamp into the house believably. Just my opinion.

Watching these eps (season 2), makes me wish I could just take occasional trips into the alternate universe where BH season 4 still had our original cast. I'd still be back here in time to watch our Annie, Tom and Hal series though. ;o)

I think it's time I admit this - when The Hobbit gets released, I am so, SO tempted to shout out "Mitchell Lives!!" When his character appears on the screen. I know a lot of people would disagree with that but.. So.. Tempting..!

84,85. I think LT was up against it when AT left then RT and SK were right behind him. It doesn't seem like he had much notice to deal with the changes either. But he's pulled it right out the fire.



Tom's character needed more exploring and Hal has been a revelation!



The whole future thing i wasn't sure about to begin with but i have faith that it'll all come together.



As for the comedy, Hal and Tom together are brilliant and we need more of the same!

Hahaha, StrangeBean, now that you've said it you've gotta go through with it! I'd love to see some of the LOTR fanboys sitting with jaws open and popcorn dribbling down their fronts.

Hahaha I know! I'm probably not brave enough in reality to do it but it just so has to be done! It's good to think I won't be the only one, that's for sure!! Perhaps this means I'll have to go see it more than once - give the LOTR fangirl in me what she's been waiting for the first time and then release my BH side on the second viewing!

BBD. You're right about the challenge for poor LT with that mass exodus. But it's ended up really inspiring him. I didn't really 'get' Tom last series because he felt like a distraction from everything else that was going on, but I love him now his innocence and directness is the perfect foil for Hal's control and worldweariness. They really workwell off each other.
