so as i was saying any ideas on the skeletons on the table ?

I think my parents have glasses like that - even now knowing what it really is, I'd rather not drink it.

What did DM say the blood was made of? Tomato juice and beetroot juice? Because as we all know from a slightly creepy discussion on a previous blog, real blood would separate.

More Alex should be fun after all a Ghost friend for Annie and someone who will judge and call people on things is interesting.



Alex is a very Spade a Spade type personality to Annie's Shovel outlook Annie may have the power but without the will - after all a mistake with a neighbour and being told to let Eve die there will be problems to come.



In a way it adds tension will Annie or Alex stay and if so one has to leave makes this Sunday a day of fear for us all.

There are at least four skulls on the bone table. We don't know what it's about yet but we've seen way too much of it for it not to be important. Maybe it's all about the Old Ones...



The vampires put Eve on it at full moon and were going to kill her on there and it looked as though the catch of the day was killed there too.



Of course, they may just have a particularly Gothic interior designer...

I reckon EW had a soft spot for it - maybe brought it with him, and none of the subsequent top brass at Stokers have had chance to get rid of it - they've all either been killed to quickly or, in Cutler's case - he's too busy on Twitter (even though it's not to his taste).

Finally managed to catch up with the episode. Wow is all I have to say. Absolutely brilliant and can't wait for the final one next week. Agree with everyone who suggested that FE already changed history by bringing Hal into the household. Thought her reasoning was not very convincing when Annie suggested the same thing. After all didn't she already fullfill the prophecy by dying in the future. I really like Alex as a ghost but if it is a choice between her and Annie I think I would still prefer to have Annie back in series 5.

Mmmmmmm im thristy now.

So DM can do a Cockerney accent and ballet dance can he? But would rather see him tango ;)

I agree with the general consensus that Annie will choose to cross over into the afterlife with Eve in tow and Alex will be the new resident ghost. I don't want LC to leave but I can't think of any other conclusion for her character. Plus I like Alex...she'll be a great addition to the house.

poor Alex, personnally I vote for keeping Alex. Our Annie's destiny seems edging toward having ticked all the boxes. And since Mitchell 'was the love of her life' , hence no future love interest; unless the BH human fiming set wants to turn into a playground, Eve is the one 'baby'. And babies grow up.



BH universe needs a new ghost and Alex is ideal match for Hal. he cannot kill her, and he has not killed her. If he drank her blood, it was unbeknowst to him it was hers. He was attracted to her and her to him. Will not kill her twice and welll he is undead, she is dead and there is no BT20 vengeful Lia to mess up with his tight jeans...



We need new blood, Lenora Critchlow has been in the serie for four years. It is her right to fly out of the nest like AT, RT, SK...

Yes, this series does seem to be leading up to an exit/resolution for Annie - especially after Emry's comment about a resolution not always being a nice thing.

@everyone (it seems!) Yes, A sad farewell to Annie and a yay! come on in to Alex at the end of this series.



At least if/when she goes, I reckon they're going to give Annie a cracking exit - no hastily rewritten final scenes or off-screen goodbyes. And LC deserves no less!

yes, it seems everybody is readying oneself to a 'late departure' of our favourite ghost as we need a new Nina. Alex can be a no nonsense Nina, supernatural and moral compass but without the holier than thou attitude.



Nina was a werewolf not a saint and she was too quick on judging people and not good enough on admitting her mistakes. Yes Ewan, I hold a very, very long grudge....

I guess I'm in the minority in preferring Annie over Alex. That said, I still liked her a lot in this episode (more so than in the previous one) and the banter between her and Hal was great. Also have warmed to FW or rather Eve as I guess there is pretty much no doubt now that it is really her. Anyone else think she might have misread the scroll? I'm a little surprised that some of the reviews have been less than favourable concerning the actress. I thought she did a good job especially while having the rather thankless job of Basil Exposition in this episode.

This has nothing to do with the episode or picture, but at work yesterday (I'm a veterinary nurse) I bandaged a black cat with bright yellow all around his chest after surgery, then said to him "You look like a bee, and I like bees."

31 Saint 32 Fiona and 33 Lizzy - Agreed - I think Annie will go out with a bang and probably will bump off a few OOs along the way. After 4 years of being our Ghost in Grey, poor Lenora deserves a great future in other roles...or at least a change of clothes.

If Rebecca ever recovers from last night and decides to do another cast member Q&A, perhaps it would be a good idea to advise all the new peeps to set up their BBC accounts a few days in advance so they can get past the moderation phase before the main event. We could also collect all the questions on a special blog post so they're easily at hand for the cast member/Rebecca. It would also prevent people getting confused about where to post their questions. Just a suggestion.

@patheticat - excellent - always good to use quotes in the real world.



It will be very sad to lose Annie but we've coped losing Mitchell, George and Nina, so I think we'll cope again. Plus we've had some excellent characters set up over this series and it'll be good to see them develop further.

I realize I have phrased my comment badly. What I meant to say is that a lot of people here think that Annie's storyline has run its course and that she will be deparing after this series (not suggesting that anyone here dislikes Annie) while I still hope that won't be the case (okay I'm in denial, I know).

Anyone know whether there will be a Q&A with Lenora after the final episode?

Well, that was quite some ride! I haven't managed to catch up on the blogposts but just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the episode. Twisty and turny like a twisty turny thing. Loved the 50s flashbacks (you're becoming like a drunk who never buys a round!) and loved finding out more about Cutler and Hal. Alex is a really good addition, hope she sticks around.

The relationship between Annie and Eve was also very believable (don't swear. Have you been smoking?) and the way the future was evoked was brilliant. Oh and Hal on the poster. Scary stuff.

And then, the arrival of Mr Snow (is the girl in pigtails our beloved Hettie?). How much menace can you put in a few words.

It's going to be a long week! Right off to try and catch up...

I still prefer Annie, I just think if we have to lose her after episode 8, the future of BH will be safe in the hands of DM (of course Hal has to survive), MS, AG (Cutler won't die either, I forbid it) and Kate Bracken. Alex would never replace Annie, but she'd be a great character in her own right - plus I think the actress has great chemistry with DM.

I am with you Black_dwarf, I really hope they just help Alex with her unfinished business, get her to take baby Eve through to purgatory and Annie, Hal and Tom live happily ever after. Well until series 5 starts and we have a BBWW coming after them.



I just think if Alex sticks around the whole 'you drank my blood' tension could get frustrating.

im a bit bothered at how they are going to 'murder' eve. they cant be putting a pillow over a little babys face or anything like that!!! so what if she doesnt have to die? what if annie tells hal what she seen and he helps stop the oo instead of becoming their poster boy? he went a bit bad but i think thats it, i think he will be good again.

I somehow don't think Cutler will survive the final episode. But since his plan didn't exactly work out he won't be a favourite with the Old Ones so maybe that will change his mind about wanting to impress them. Also think he still has it in for Hal so I see another big confrontation between those two coming up.

Anyone else think that Annies unfinished business might be to kill Eve, Then she will pass over and its by by Annie?

can a vampire and ghost have a relationship? a few of you said its perfect bacause the vamp cant kill and they live forever (or long time) but remember when mitchell and annie tried it, he couldnt really feel anything could he? so could they have a 'physical relationship' (didnt want to put any rudie words on!)

@Random-R: I agree. And also a bit too close to the whole Nina - George you made me a werewolf thing. Than again I don't really see any other reason for her to suddenly be a ghost so I guess she is set up to replace our beloved Annie. But if Annie leaves I don't want it to be because she had to kill Eve (which still doesn't make sense btw. - future Eve did die so that imho is that for the prophecy). So maybe we will see Annie going poltergeist on the Old Ones and the baby will be given a home in a new loving family (how about Annie's mother - okay just wishfull thinking again, I guess) and that will give Annie reason to finally pass on. (Okay, I'm rambling now.)

Alex will never let Hal forget about drinking her blood,women never forget these little things,they store them away for use later.

@52: Plus them (Mitchell/Annie) getting together kind of ruined it for me. I just thought that what had been a beautiful friendship was made very awkward in the end. (Then again I guess that is also very human and close to real life - also a reason why I love this show so much). I just don't want a whole series 5 revolving around the question of will they/won't they for Alex and Hal. She needs to be her own character and while she seems to be independent enough I'm curious about where they will go with this. Any idea what Alex unfinished business could be? We have seen plenty of people die in violent ways without becoming ghosts. Could it be revenge?

So, after last night's episode - do you think that the *radio* voice from the future was Hal, then? I was sure it was Mr Snow but after last night and hearing him, I'm not so sure any more.



I am not thinking about Annie leaving. It makes me feel too sad. I think she's a great character and always have thought so. I don't want it to be the end of her story but if it is - she'd better go out with an explosion that would make the explosion at the funeral parlour look like a damp squib. I'm sure LT will make sure of that. Anyway, that is my worst case scenario.



As I said last night, I didn't like Alex as a human but as a ghost....well, she grew on me!



I don't think Hal will be Lord Harry for long and I think Cutler is in for a serious talking to!

@Random-R: The romantic in me believes that he recognized something in Hal and stopped the attack not wanting to hurt his friend. Another guess would be that Annie somehow manages to get their in time to stop Tom with her powers. I guess the real answer will be a lot different though.

61 - Yup and Baby Eve dying could, in fact, be the *truly shocking* death we were promised - I know we've had a few deaths but none has shocked so far - well haven't shocked me anyway.

Also, people are saying Hal is now bad/Lord Harry, but I think he's still just Hal. He seemed very resistant to going back to being Big Bad Hal. Although I'm glad Alex walked off when she did, because it wasn't looking good for her. But if he survives WereTom, and gets back home to Annie, I think they'll help wean him back off the bottled blood, and through the shakes. Although more scenes like DM having the shakes last night will be sadly missed :(

@67: I hope that won't happen. As I said in an earlier blog that would break Annie's heart and I just don't want her character to leave in such a sad way. There have been to many sad departures on this show already. If Annie has to leave I want her unfinished business to be something good.

I noticed in the next week section at the end there is a tiny clip of Hal with blood all other his mouth and face screaming or saying something in pain???, so my theory is Tom attacks him and they fight but do not kill each other....or that clip is something completely different....or its not even Hal.???

@black dwarf, did you call yourself that because you like red dwarf? anyway, i agree with you about tom recognising hal and not attacking him. that happened with nina didnt it when george turned. although he scratched nina by accident when he was changing if i remember correctly.



i dont mind ghost alex but i dont want to see her with hal bacause it would just spoil it for me like the annie/mitch thing. they dont need to stick a romance in to make it a good show. sometimes just a friendship is good.

@Leanneloveschoc: Yes, I was also thinking along the lines of werewolf George being calmed by Nina. Would be great if that was mirrored by Tom's reaction to Hal. Just hope Hal doesn't get seriously hurt as that would suggest he needs blood to recover. I don't want him to drink again this season. One cup was more than enough.

I think that clip looks like someone transforming? I know it would either have to be a flashback or we'd need to be jumping forward for last episode and I don't think it's that.



I think that Tom is actually jumping over Hal in that scene on the stairs and is in pursuit of Cutler - but Cutler has managed to escape.

@Black Dwarf. I'm not sure who it is either, but would guess it's supposed to be Hal, as they'd shown clips of Tom and Annie beforehand, looking all worried and agitated.



Regarding the skeletons, note in the preview to next week that they are now on the wall, behind where I presume Mr Snow is sitting.



On that note, who is the guy they make of point of showing a close-up of - what's his significance.

86. nikki. Thats a doozy. Cutler hates Hal for Turning him without asking, killing his wife and abandoning him to the rest of the vampires.



He loves him for being his maker. He wants to show how far he has developed his skills.



All in all I think Cutler is just the sort of person to help Hal just so that he can gloat. Plus the fact I think Cutler is going to be terrified on the massed OOs.

This series has seen the characters do some bad stuff, but would the writers really make them kill a baby? There has to be another way.

How about Alex's unfinished business is to sort Cutler out. She does this, preferably when Annie and baby Eve are about. At that point Alex's door appears and Annie thrusts baby Eve into Alex's arms, telling her to take her to George and Nina. That way Eve is gone without having to die.

I don't know if he would try and save him... he obviuosly still hates what happened to his wife and wanted to punish him for it, and Hal obviously didn't react the way he thought he would and he seemed really 'annoyed' at him not wanting to annihilate humanity/begging so maybe he doesn't consider them square yet?
