Just had a rewatch, any one else notice future lady had 2 different bits of the scrolls compared to the ones that uncle regus did?

- adds a bit more mystery and confusion to the puzzle don't it?

also Griffin mumbled about the trinity (WW, G and Vamp living in a house) thinking about G, A & M; Could this be Hal, Leo and Pearl instead??

- Love pearl being a parallel Annie (refused to accept Leos dying and cluck round him like a mother hen " have you been picking your sores" , "its Sheperds Pie tomorrow" bless her.

- also Hals OCD could be more like G being the Tidyish one in PH.



Enough rambling - apart from I agree with the comments about WW blood suddenly becoming toxic to vamps (despite them beatin WWs in previous eps -

G, Tulley, Mcnair etc), hope this is explained in later eps.



I did notice Annie brandishing a cross when they stormed the den, so take back previous grumble.

Haven't commented before, but been following BH since season 1 (def one of the best series Swedish television has bought from BBC, but really happy I'm living in UK now, so I don't have to wait ages for the new season to be shown) and been reading the blog quite a lot and felt like it's time to start commenting as well.

8-I've been waiting for someone to mention the idea that the trinity could be referring to Hal, Leo and Pearl, surprised it hasn't been mentioned earlier as people on here seem to be really good with coming up with theories. I was thinking that it could be those three as well, but I was also thinking that it could be the "new" trinity Annie, Hal and Tom, assuming that Pearl will disappear when Leo dies. If that's the case, the baby on the scrolls could be Eve, or a baby yet to come.

Also didn't it say somewhere on this blog that we would meet a new type of supernatural in this series? I'm really trying to think of different types of supernaturals that it could be, we know it can't be zombies, as we had one in series 3. So what could it be? I know people have suggested fairies or trolls, but I want to think that it's something else. Could it be that the woman from the future (who I assumed was Eve, but after reading some comments here I'm not as sure anymore) when going back in time doesn't come back as a ghost, but as something else?

And forgot to say, I also love Dewi, he brings back a bit of the feeling of "old" BH. I think he and George (as George used to be before Ninas death) would have had some pretty funny conversations.

Can we now see the two minute additional scene that LT wrote for George and Annie, where they have a moment together to remember Mitchell and Nina who were so important to BH and who were their great loves.



Because there must be one, surely? LT wouldn't have just dealt with this in a passing mention or a throwaway line, would he? He must have written a two minute scene? Please! He wouldn't have thrown this touching moment aside for a 30 second fast forward or a minute of cod mysticism, would he? Would he?

I agree with you both, the whole tragedy of Nina and Mitchell was passed over very quickly. I had hoped for more acknowledgement. However, I think LT's idea was to move on as quickly as possible, get that all out of the way and start again, afresh, like a new show really but with the same idea of a ghost, ww and vamp living together and not dwell on the past.

Especially once he new there would be no George and Nina in the next series there was no need to have everyone dwelling on Mitchell's death and past actions. It made it easier to remove Mitchell's "ghost" from the show if you parden the pun.

36. I'm not trying to suggest "dwelling", just a couple of minutes to acknowledge that it actually happened. BH has dealt with death and departure so beautifully before. The dignity of Adam's father, Sasha, Anna's mother Carmen, to take but a few examples.



Look at the scene after Lauren died: Mitchell listens to opera. George brings him a cup of tea and says 'I'm sorry about Lauren'. Mitchell still stares into the distance before saying, 'Thanks... and not just for the tea.' The scene lasts probably no more than 15 seconds, but in those 15 seconds we see an act of kindness, of sympathy, of acknowledging that a death and a life was important. It shows that Mitchell does not forget Lauren or the deed he has done; it shows that George is compassionate towards his friend. And it takes no more than 15 seconds. A small scene; not a throwaway sentence.



More generally,



moving on doesn't have to mean drawing a line. It doesn't have to mean rubbing out the past. Those are decisions that LT must make. It doesn't have to be done quickly. That is for LT to decide. I expect LT to continue to explore his characters fully and acknowledge their feelings and not to shirk from difficult scenes. I don't need emotions to be glossed over or characters to be 'dumbed down'. LT chose to spend more time developing a futuristic plot of prophecies than on exploring George and Annie's grief and love (and humanity?). That's his privilege. (I'm a fan and viewer questioning and responding to his work: that's my privilege.)



Moving on quickly carries with it a risk. For some, that risk paid off; for others, less so.

Just looked at the episode again and had some new thoughts.

First of all I'm now thinking it really is Eve we see in the future, after reading some comments I thought it might not be. But the door she goes through after dying is the front door to HH, her childhood home or at least where she was born, so I def think it's Eve.

When she says she's going back to kill "that baby" I would guess she's referring to the other baby symbol on the new piece, which looks like baby and then it looks like the death symbol inside it. I don't know why, but I thought that baby might be Hal? I'm hoping not.

Another thought was that Regus says that the pyramid could represent Africa or Trinity, what if it actually does represent Africa? and has nothing to do with Eve? Not likely, but just an idea.

I also thought that maybe one of the babies could be Pearl's? She looks like she died in the 1950's and Hal's prequel takes place 1955. So I thought, and this is quite a crazy idea, that maybe she and Leo had a baby? Possibly she died in childbirth, and that could be the death symbol in the scrolls?

Oh and I would also want to see Dewi meet the becoming human cast, espescially Adam, was actually thinking they should become friends, both being quite geeky young vampires.

I’ve gotten to watch and rewatch the first episode now and I’d love to say I enjoyed it but I can’t :,( Sadly I can’t adequately put in writing how disappointed I am about it. I have said for years on the blog that Being Human could go on for ten years with Lord Toby’s excellent writing and the incredible talent of the cast and crew, now I’m rethinking my belief in that. With so much of the cast Aiden, Sinead, and Russell gone it’s not the same, also no Barry Pilling or Marcus Whitney and that has made a difference too. I expected to cry and be upset by the episode, in a good way, you know good drama is like that. But after watching I was left drained and shell shocked wondering where all the magic of Being Human went. I will keep watching to see where it will go and give the new cast a chance, but not hopeful at this point.

My thoughts keep returning to Hal as other baby but evil one. We know his mother was one of three whores, so who sired him a mystery? He has been prevented from doing the evil he was born to do thus far in this period of his existence as has been protected by Pearl and Leo. The fact that his "safety net" is about to collapse at a time when another "good" baby has been born seems relevant. Eve will grow up around him and will not possibly have realised what he was put on earth to do , she will be close to Hal Tom and Annie and look upon them all as surrogate parents. She will feel a leaning twds ww's as her parents were WW's but not see the bad in Hal until too late, the reaso she has not accomplished saving the world will be because of her misplaced feelings for Hal? The realisation dawned when the final piece of scroll arrived. I think when she says kill that baby, she doesnt neccessarily mean " in baby form" but the baby on scroll and who she has come to realise it is - she has to kill Hal in his current time as we see him now so that he does not form that bond with her as a baby which throws her saving the world off course!! There now did anyone follow that or am I rambling again!

why can't Pearl die in childbirth, because of her dress. generally Childbirth does not require dress fit for a cocktail party...Which leads to the question: why did Future Eve need to change her clothes in favour of fluffy long dress? to look deceptively demure and safe?



as for Hal, not knowing one's father when one's mother was from a whore house was not an issue in the early Renaissance. Beside, being a male b.*** was better than being a female illegitimate child. Future Eve could be travelling to baby Hal 1490AD? now what happended circa1490???

@ SAINTIXE56 - As per my previous blog and I didn't think of it as an issue him not knowing his father, being a bxxxxd etc, just that we don't know who sired/created him - I believe she is going back to current time as it is when she is a baby and when the bond will be formed between her and Hal. She has allowed the "being human" part of her (emotions, family bonds) to prevent the prophecy (her being the saviour) from coming true (as of 2037) and she needs to set this right, she has to destroy Hal before he can "build them up" and then "take them down" (domino prequel scene?) ie., befriend them, make them feel an emotional connection with him before he ruthlessly wipes them all out? There is obviously a reason for Hal, Pearl & Leo to be drawn to HH - don't know that she intends to destroy him "as a baby" and maybe she can only travel back to the point when she is born and not before? More ramblings.



Aside from this, did anyone notice the New York poster in the cafe by the door?

44 - Eve of the future's fellow resistance fighter said he had lost men retrieving last scroll and so was probably still in vampire's possession until that point, hence why she didn't realise the significance of other baby (Hal?) before - she had a sharp intake of breath when she finally pieced it all together so it was obviously a nasty shock/realisation when she saw the whole picture there before her.

34 -39 Ed I totally agree with what you have said. For a show abt the "friendship btw a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost" which has always dealt with loss and tragedy in a very moving and sensitive way, without being soppy, I find very sad that the death of 2 main characters has been brushed aside like nothing has happened.



I understand the pressure the show and LT are on, after having 3 out of 4 original actors/character moved out of the picture, but for me the more the show/LT tries to pretend that it was not a big deal, both with the writing and with the interviews, the more it makes me want to see a proper grieving scene.



All the BH fans who loved the premises and the first 3 series are ready to move on and follow the new BH style and what is to come, but to insist that we have to pretend Mitchell and Nina were not important is to me simply ridiculous. After all, Russell himself in his video told us we have to let new ppl in, because the reason we love the show now it's because we fell in love with how he gave life to George (and Aidan;Mitchell and Sinead-Nina).

34. An additional scene between George and Annie would be lovely. But with the way they had Series 4 George totally submerged in his own grief, I really don't think it will be possible. I don't have a problem with the way they dealt with George and Annie's grief. It's a human reaction for some people to shut down completely when they're dealing with grief and guilt. In George and Annie's despair, I still felt they deeply loved Mitchell and Nina even if it wasn't particularly put into words. It was still etched onto their faces.



Interesting ideas Susie and Sarasalian: you've definitely given us all a lot to think about.

for me the 'that baby' is not the baby heralded on the first two scrolls, the baby born under the moon, but the baby inside the third scroll, the baby who saves vampires.



then we have the 'unholy' trinity... before the birth of the saviour, there was the birth of John the Baptist, right. Who is going to be 'him' the one who reveals the saviour is the saviour? If anything I think Hal to be it because, his own Trinity was successful, ISN'T IT and we are discussing a baby, not a full grown man, so Hal being ruled out , we have here real baby-babies. not 'mystical' ones. But he can be seen as an herald of the real saviour of his kind. plus if we go down the mythical route, there is Christ and anti-Christ figures. hence a human saviour facing a vampire saviour.

@if you look to Tom scene in the job interview you will remember it was pointed out that the wall paper was all about New York - a recurring them as New York has fallen- bye the way. season 3 Tetanus Mobile, season 4 -storming the batcave. Womdering f we do not have a subliminal theme it : vampires turning into bats and Batman.... here there a mention of Gotham? do we have batman references in season one and two.

65 Hi Saint. I did kinda wonder if EW and G fought and EW got some of G's blood in his mouth and died, which is how G discovered ww blood is poisonous to vampires. But it still doesn't answer why M didn't know or didn't tell G this. It's such a biggie.

Has anyone else noticed the striking similarity between young Leo when he is chained up in Hal's prequel and the freedom fighter who kills "grown up Eve" in the first episode ?? Uncanny resemblance and he mentions about meeting her for the first time 10 years previously, I know Leo old now but we don't know what will happen with Leo yet, we're presuming he dies- neither actor is listed in cast credits (I don't think)? Might be wrong but with all this time travelling stuff could there be a link somewhere, just thinking aloud may be a bit of a longshot and a lot of babbling without any real thought processes!
