What I want to know is, was Herrick acting like he didn't know who he was so he could infiltrate the group, or did he really not know who he was until the hunger for blood made him kill and then that new strength from the blood brought it all back?

Zoya: Total genius. He is such a powerful actor. I love seeing him. He also plays creepy in a subservient, slimy way too..seen him on TV in something a while ago. He's so nice and angelic looking which of course you can really use if you play a villain. It makes you so much more menacing and unpredictable as a character. Thinking nasty thoughts whilst looking so innocent with a sweet smile....I prefer Mitchell's brand of nasty myself but then, I am biased!

Jason Watkins is fabulous as Herrick. Waiting with bated breath to see what nastiness he gets up to on Sunday.

Jason Watkins - fantastic - no-one else could have made Herrick so tricky and evil and funny. Will he survive the end of S3?? Will Lord Toby really kill him twice? It would have to be a stake this time? Bet JW would love that!

I adore Jason Watkins!...Toby Whithouse is absolutely right when he says that Jason portrays villains like noone else....part of the huge success of Being Human is that Herrick is so believable in all his many guises. Great acting tips Jason.



This clip reminds me of something I meant to ask on the previous blog....in that flashback with Mitchell ( tombservice!)...why did Herrick not want Mitchell to go near him...was he wanting to stay clear of Mitchell's blood lust?...did he think that he would be drawn into it? ( but it didn't stop him drinking the girl's blood)...was he angry with Mitchell for keeping the girl alive for so long?

Something to do with the plans Herrick had in mind, or the old ones, I forget! He just wanted someone his 'own age' to be with. Ivan was right...an appalling existence.

11 - my take on it was that Herrick was keeping Mitchell from turning anyone (maybe because you can only be an heir if you haven't recruited anyone? Why he made such a big deal of the Old Ones rarely recruiting?) and he was furious that Mitchell had recruited the girl. Herrick says "it doesn't matter now" when M asks him how heirs work, which implied to me that what M had just done had messed things up.

@Dorina, @anglo- poor lonely Mitchell. I'm volunteering right now to help him out!

I was channel surfing the other day and came across the end of 'Tomorrow Never Dies' and spotted Mr Watkins! He had a speaking part on the sub (or stealth boat, whatever it was)

Dorina and Anglo - Yes, in this clip Herrick didn't want Mitchell recruiting the girl....BUT, when I went back and re-watched the start of series 1 ep5 - where Herrick is telling this story at the funeral parlour...he says that the girl is coming by later...so she must've been recruited. Either that or another continuity error. Ewan.....any thoughts?

19 - In the beginning of the scene Herrick says "I told you not to recruit her." That was the reason for the severity of the face pounding and it was server remember there was a definite dent.

SAINTIXE56...the whole thing about having an heir is interesting and puzzling at the same time. I've seen previous ideas about how the appointed heir has, at the very least, to have been recruited by the vampire in question...so Cara had been recruited by Herrick and he made her his heir ( I'm guessing he would have chosen Mitchell if Mitchell hadn't tried to give up on the blood). The way things are going....it's not looking to me like Herrick is going to give up his secret.

I watched ep2 earlier and there was so much I'd missed ( or just forgotten!). Didn't notice that Adam called George the "FA cup"! . How very rude!

Great rapport between him and AT too. In the behind the scenes things they seemed to enjoy the scenes they had together.

I was listening to the Queen of the Damned soundtrack, don't really like the film but the music was done by Jonathan Davis (of Korn) and its great. All vampire themed songs and about different problems/issues that go with it. He got different artists (marilyn mason, linkin park, deftones) to sing the songs as there were legal issues or something. Well worth checking out, just for the lyrics alone.

I happened to be taking a look at earlier stuff yesterday. One of the clips was Aiden's diary from the end of series 1? when Lauren and Seth meet their end. he rapport and banter between them all was obvious and that they were all having a ball! Nice clip with Jason and Aiden too....Happy days.

Jason Watkins has shown fantastic acting ability throughout BH - especially this series, believably dotty one second, then really scary the next. Hope Herrick's still around if there's another series!

Morning all - #86 - there has to be a S4 for all our sanity, but I think they're keeping us in suspense deliberately and will release news of Series 4 at 10.01 on Sunday. I've never known a week so long and have been totally unable to think about anything else at all!

(BTW I'm so glad that this is a forum for 'adults', albeit demented obsessed ones. The majority of those commenting on the Facebook BH page are driving me crazy.)

-- As an ex-Smallville fan one of the things the fans did when they'd had a favorite character to die off was send box loads of plain or engraved pencils to the network heads or producers saying they want her back. We could just buy pencils and send them by the boxload to TW etc, an address to his BBC3 office? with a note asking him we're giving him the pencils to write another Series of Being Human if they won't give him the funds.



-- I used to not the Herrick character/portrayal when I first checked out Being Human to prep for the US Syfy version. But after truly getting 'it' and into the show, also doing many rewatches and then seeing his performances for S3, I must say I was very rude and wrong. Jason is excellent.

That's what so sad and woobie about Mitchell is that you can feel his struggles, needs and weaknesses even when he fails and resorts to bad and evil for a short term solution. This scene and his attempts at keeping human female partners for the short term for crutches shows how Annies is his perfect mate. She won't ever trigger his instinct to kill her eventually, she inspires him to fight and stay good, she will be with him for eternity. It makes me cry every time I think about it. :-{......

Yay for the wonderful Mr Watkins. He's so right, Herrick is that much more creepy because he's quite cheerful. Unnerving, much.
