I think that's a great idea, Russell. Maybe make them as articulate as the Torchwood dolls, they're very well made.

However, the only problem with Being Human and Torchwood action figures would be that they're only sold in specialist fan shops like Forbidden Planet in Cardiff. The average fan would have to travel a long distance just to find one unless they ordered online, which isn't suitable for everyone. Or would have to go to Conventions.

Well, if Russell's dream does come true, I'll be the first one going to the fan shop!

Oh, yes! I was in a chat room with another BH fan, and we came up with ideas for an entire BH action figure line!

Yes to action hero dolls being anatomically correct and talking and great lines from eagle for the talk part...I would add in for a Herrick doll ( I miss him!) the line " back in the day.."

Assuming they would be doll size I turn my thoughts to the actual mechanics. For George and Mitchell their 'special features' could be inside them ( an inner doll) and revealed....

George: His clothes would come off (naturally) and I'm attracted to the idea of squeezing his bum in order to allow human George to split down middle/open up and out would pop werewolf George...both could play together before werewolf pops back into human George who comes back intact.

Mitchell: even more attracted to idea of squeezing the bum of doll Mitchell...this would allow vampire Mitchell with eyes and fangs to be revealed.

Annie..no inner doll here but she could be squeezed in some way or other which immediately makes her transport herself to elsewhere in the room...or possibly to the kitchen where she can get the brew on.



Of course they would need a new wardrobe each (think of the money to be made here BH team !) which would involve some new clothes for Annie to go on over lovely grey outfit, the lovely orange number George was put off from wearing on his non-date, and denim/leather jackets for Mitchell

Hmm. Action George should, I think, look a great deal like Russell does in the promo pics: dressed normally, but with his shirt rent at the left shoulder and the welts from the werewolf attack clearly visible.



For extra awesome, make Action George's head removable and package the figure with a werewolf head, so the user can swap out the heads. Presto: George-as-werewolf! Character Options did this with the most recent Fourth Doctor action figure: one Tom Baker head with hat, one without hat.

There definitely needs to be a shirtless George in blue jeans figure (like before the fight with Herrick). I agree with the other posters who said George action figures need the hideous orange shirt and the torn shirt & the claw scars.



I'm all for any doll that involves squeezing George's butt and all his clothes coming off. If that's the one that's life-sized and anatomically correct, so be it.



If we're doing accessories, shouldn't George come with a whisk and cell phone charger?





Talking Mitchell has to say "George, get your lead," and "I'm sensing a trip to IKEA and you know my feelings on that."



Changing eyes for both Mitchell & George (borrowing Brownirisheyes pushbutton idea) where you press something and their eyes change from human to Vampire Black or Werewolf Yellow.



The Annie figure needs to say just about anything she said while practicing haunting Owen, particularly "Confesssssssssss" I'd love it if she could say "I was taking out the recycling and this guy shouted, SLAG!" That's my favorite line from Annie(episode 1 when she's talking about people seeing her all the time).

I thought about BH-themed teddies; the George one can 'grow' the fangs and claws when squeezed as I think there used to be a series of teddies years ago that were 'were-bears'?

I'm trying to figure out money for the con, I'll know if I can go or not by the end of this month. I had no idea there were any set up for the show yet! I'm excited to see the actors' talks on stage; everyone think up really good qus to ask them.

I have been to a few events before but this will be my first BH one. I wonder if they would choose Bristol in the future (assuming more BH cons)?

I haven't yet picked up the DVD, I read on a DVD site a review someone mentioned and was hoping you could confirm for me the DVD has different music in the eps? The background music bits I mean, that match what the characters are doing in the scenes. I don't understand why a DVD release would need to change background music? Or did I read that wrong?

If someone who has the DVD could let me know asap then I'll be able to get it for myself. I like the choices of music put into eps of BH (they suit the moods of scenes well) and want the same on the DVD I'm paying the brand-new price for.

I was thinking, does anyone remember play doh? they use to have 'scary' monsters that oozed doh when you squeezed them. You could have a George doll that you squeezed and pushed hair out, then popped back in. Or Mitchell could have action eyes, that went from human to vamp. And an Annie doll, that had electricity jumping from her hands, I'm sure that would be popular in the play ground for zapping each other!

The "Incredibles" action figures had a solution: they had Regular Violet and Invisible Violet, the latter of which was molded out of clear plastic.

Evening all wow lots of comments! Firstly my nan is hooked on being human since it started on bbc1 which meant we could have a very in depth conversation about it today which was fun and I'm not letting her borrow my dvd she has to wait a week like we all did but so excited cos she'll love episode 3! So yay BH team - my nan doesn't really go for "old" programs well apart form deal or no deal but I think she has the hots for Noel Edmonds so thats besides the point but still...the lady has taste :-)



Secondly KC you write fan fiction? You seen the stuff on LJ? I've got a couple of bits up under a different username (no one post it on here please...I have my reasons lol) its not really my strong point but there are some other really awesome pieces of writing on there.



Thirdly convention - so if I do decide to go I'll know someone that'll be good - not sure if I will though - still conjures images of men in spock ears lol although maybe this will be more mad teenage fan girls with plastic fangs and black contact lenses lol.



And last but not least - you're all going on about squeezing Mitchell and Annies bits and bobs lol does this mean that Russell is left for me and Graygazol to fight over? :-D because I'm pretty sure Graygazol is from the states (yeah?) so I quite fancy my chances...well apart from the whole being female thing but still :-)

:D Absolutely, though I'm not sure whether a tiny cell phone charger would be recognizable as such. The whisk would be great, though.



I stand by my swappable-heads idea. Just think of what one could do with a spare Russell Tovey head! Find yourself an action figure wearing Navy togs, and presto! Instant Midshipman Alonzo Frame action figure! Find an action figure in Victorian threads, and voila! Instant John Chivery! Have the world's largest collection of Russell Tovey action figures!



Oh, and if the action figures have sound, all I want George to say is 1) "WHO WANTS SOME OF MY CHAIR?!?" and 2) the girly scream.

YAY for your super-cool nan! She's now officially a legend!



LMAO Honestly, the folks who go to conventions are the nicest, kindest and most fantastic bunch of people you could ever, EVER meet so you'd be as safe as Houses. ;) Costumery isn't essential for the ones I've been to though many of the ones I've seen were amazing - and this probably isn't a cos-play (costume player) so you'll be safe from Spock ears, I'd think, until the parties at night. :P



In fact my mates and I went to the last London Expo dressed as (a slightly skewed version of) the Trio! Skewed because I baggsied George, my mate Mrs T went as Mitchell and her wonderful, brave husband went as Annie... chestage and all. ;) They changed out of their costumes at lunchtime so I didn't manage to get a group pic of all three of us together... pah! Plus we had a few costume disasters - my fangs didn't quite work out (the upper right one went wobbly and kept falling out for no apparent reason so I had to take them out in case I lost them), my shoulder scars stuck to my shirt and came off and the claws were too long so I couldn't even get a drink of water.... but the golden eyes were AMAZING! ;) I surprised the actor James Bradley (he plays Arthur in Merlin and was utterly fascinating) with them - he was so sweet about it! And get this... FOUR people knew who I'd gone as, even without the claws and fangs. It seems BH and merlin fandom go hand in claw. ;) *pauses* and now I sound like a total geek! Yay me! lmao.



Hehe, and yep, I do write BH fanfiction, hunny, but I'm only sharing it on two sites for now - being-human.tv and the official Vampire High forum. ;) I've not seen the LJ group I don't think... could you provide a little linky perhaps?

I think the were-bears were black and purple coloured? The Annie-bear could have the jacket change around as the series 1 BH eps showed how it could be worn differently to echo Annie’s mood eg hood up when she felt low in confidence. All look cute because teddy bears do ;-)

I think the company are using a particular venue location they have used before for their other cons so they are happy with it. At the moment they would like to attract more interest for the con but as I’m not a member of places such as Facebook, Twitter, or LJ all I can do to spread the word is post about the con and TV show through my emails with people. I recruited viewers from the US, they watch the BBCAmerica channel 8-)

Do we need to start a new discussion for the BH con? BH merchandise eg action figures is kind of related to cons, there might be dealers at the con selling BH merchandise. I’d like to get a door-sized BH poster!

Anyone wants to ask me con queries, feel free to and I’ll try my best to answer them, having attended cons run by various companies for a number of years now I feel I can compare and contrast cons. I attended a signing event and a con by the company who are organising the BH con, I’m confident they will provide a good weekend for attendees.

It’s frustrating having to wait for the end of the month, only one week to go, then I can make my ticket order. My computer crashed in July so I have to pay out for a new one. I’m currently using a laptop to visit the site.

I hope there are still rooms left at the venue location hotel :-o I’m very late learning news of the con because the computer crashed when it did. I would like to stay the Friday and Saturday nights but travel home on the Sunday evening.

Is there anyway you can make the YouTube videos available for those in the US? *batts eyes* Please, Please, Pleeeease! I absolutely love this show, and I cannot emphasize that enough! I even bought a region-free dvd player, just so I could buy the show ahead of the US. LOL! However, being in the states I miss out on all the great behind the scenes clips, and those are the parts of the filming process I enjoy... is seeing things from behind the camera.

I also want to say Thank You! for this wonderful show. I think it's the best show I've seen in awhile, and I'll continue to love it from afair. I can't wait until the new series hits dvd, because I know I'll be buying it! Thanks again!

tinapalooza (cool name by the way :-P) fingerless gloves - not really a fashion thing I think they were once upon a time and a lot of the goth kids etc seem to be wearing them nowadays... I wear them in the winter - used to wear em all the time but believe it or not we've actually had a hot summer over here :-S but yeah I'm by no means fashionable lol a jeans and t shirt girl through and through I'm afraid :-)

-I was thinking the same thing and love it. Sure it's sort of venturing into the Barbie Dreamhouse area, but I think that's pretty cool.

-For the Annie action figure, it should have an option to record what you think she whispered to Owen. You know something like: "I faked it... and you have a tiny..." or "That pink shirt makes you look like a douche." It should also come with an Owen doll. It doesn't even have to look like Owen. It could be little wind up toy like a penguin with "Owen" written on it. Wind up little Owen and let him wander off the table edge.

Have to say I know very little of the doctor who action figures other than what my 6 year old cousin got for christmas which was like a dalek helmet thing and a figure of the actual doctor and some tardis thing but I think that was a money box lol but yeah Russell should have one...hes in the christmas episode not sure how big a role he'll have this time round but who knows maybe he'll have 2 soon :-) and as much as I love George personally I think I'd have to go for the one in uniform :-D
