BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year
On Tuesday the winner of the BBC Women's Footballer of the Year was announced. The annual award from the BBC World Service, now in its third year, is voted for by football fans from around the world.

Drama
Poldark returns to BBC One on Sunday 11 June, you can find out more about the cast, crew and characters in the series 3 media pack.
Robson Green, Sue Johnston and Polly Walker were amongst the cast members announced on Thursday for Debbie Horsfield's drama Age Before Beauty, a family saga set in a Manchester salon.
Also on Thursday BBC Writersroom, Directors UK and Creative Skillset announced the successful trainees for the second year of the Continuing Drama Directors’ Training Scheme.
Factual
Following the department’s recent success at the BAFTAs, controller of BBC Factual, Alison Kirkham announced over 35 hours of new commissions across history, science, religion, documentaries and factual entertainment across BBC Television.
As part of the BBC’s Tomorrow’s World season of science and technology programming Invented In England will air on June 23 on BBC One English Regions and BBC One. Also part of the season, on Thursday 15 June, seven celebrities will each champion one object in their bid to persuade the BBC Two audience to vote for the invention they are endorsing and see it win the title of Britain’s Greatest Invention.

Filming started for the new Saturday night family gameshow hosted by Len Goodman for BBC One, Partners In Rhyme.
BBC Music
BBC One and BBC Music announced broadcast plans for One Love Manchester, the special concert to be held on Sunday 4 June to honour and raise vital funds for the victims and families who were tragically affected by the Manchester attack.
On Friday it was reveled that Wolfgang Holzmair will join Grace Bumbry, Sumi Jo, Anu Tali and Chair David Pountney as jury members for the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2017 competition.

Controller of BBC Radio 3, Alan Davey told us how the station were exploring alternatives to the current fast speed of life, illustrated by broadcasting a four hour walk from the village of Cwmdu in the Brecon Beacons to the Hay Festival, undertaken by writer Horatio Clare in Sound Walk to Hay-on-Wye.
