Glastonbury
On Monday 6 June we announced our plans for Glastonbury 2016 coverage, for audiences tuning in via radio, online and TV with even more to see via BBC Red Button.
Wimbledon
Sport, this week, revealed the full line up of programming for Wimbledon across TV, radio and digital from 27 June to 10 July.

Drama
BBC Two and Mammoth Screen announced this week that the two lead actors for their forthcoming production of Zadie Smith’s NW, adapted by Rachel Bennette, will be Nikki Amuka-Bird and Phoebe Fox.
Meanwhile with was revealed tat much lived character Duffy will return to BBC One's Casualtyfor a cameo appearance in the show's 1000th episode, and that principal photography has begun on the second series of BBC Two's The Last Kingdom.
Comedy
BBC North and BBC Comedy have announced the line-up for Salford Sitcom Showcase 2016 on 5 and 6 July 2016.
Arts
On Tuesday we launched our search for the next generation of dance talent, as applications for BBC Young Dancer 2017 opened.
Entertainment
Alan Tyler, Acting Controller of BBC Entertainment Commissioning, in Tuesday made the following statement regarding the all-new Top Gear.
Radio
This week, Radio 5 Live announced Jane Garvey, the first ever voice on BBC Radio 5 live, is returning to the station for a new programme – teaming up again with former presenting partner Peter Allen. The network also BBC Radio 5 revealed their summer programming plans, including exclusive live sport, comprehensive coverage of major events, and entertaining and engaging new programmes.
Elsewhere, Radio 4 revealed which five remarkable women who are set to take over BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour: Mary Berry, Eniola Aluko, Jackie Kay, Professor Sunetra Gupta and Angelina Jolie Pitt are due to guest edit an edition of the show from Monday 13 to Friday 17 June.
Regional
Huw Edwards will host a major live debate on the EU Referendum from Swansea on Friday 17 June as part of BBC Wales’ extensive output on the key decision facing voters in the EU Referendum.
International
It was announced that BBC Africa will bring audiences across the world special programming this week, marking the 40th anniversary of the 16 June Soweto uprisings.
Elsewhere, to keep Afghan sports fans up to date with this summer’s busy international calendar and beyond, BBC Pashto TV’s sports coverage is getting a major boost with the launch of the weekly live Lobay (Sports) programme.
Finally, BBC World Service and the British Council, with co-producers The Open University and in partnership with Commonwealth Writers, have announced the shortlisted scripts in the 25th International Radio Playwriting Competition.
