Hayley says: "I’m helpless in the face of Donald Sutherland"

"I adored this. I was only supposed to watch a couple of episodes and ended up binging it all in one go. There’s so much to like about it. The cast is excellent. It’s got Donald Sutherland in it and I’m helpless in the face of Donald Sutherland and Donald Sutherland's eyebrows. Nicole Kidman’s hair is incredible. It’s red and it’s bouncy and it's lush and a big character in itself. The show looks amazing because they’re part of this elite bubble in the New York community, so everything is gorgeous and expensive to look at.

"Each episode is a perfectly constructed little mystery that ends on a cliff hanger, so you can easily lose five hours to this. It’s not just police procedural or court procedural, it’s also this dark melodrama about a marriage and trust and human psychology.

"I really liked the fact that we have this unreliable narrator in Nicole Kidman’s character. We see everything through her, but because of her feelings of betrayal and her love for this guy, who may or may not be a brutal murderer, we’re not entirely sure if we can trust what she’s thinking and seeing.

"Hugh Grant is in it being English and charming, so we can’t tell what he’s thinking either. He switches between being the Richard Curtis Hugh Grant that we know and this cold, calculating sleaze that makes you wince. It's a strange feeling, as a viewer, to not be completely in love with Hugh Grant."

Scott says: "It takes you on a ride"

"We’re at this moment in TV where Hollywood celebrities are given lots and lots of money to appear in big flashy television dramas, but this risks making it feel bloated or self-important. I'm happy to say this doesn't fall into that trap. The Undoing takes you on a ride. There are twists and turns throughout that keep you hooked. You also constantly question what each character is going to do next.

"For the first 46 minutes it was kind of preamble, but stick with it. Just when you think you know where it’s going to head it slaps you in the face and takes you in a different direction. In the second episode, it slaps you again at roughly the same point in the episode!

"The themes are much in the vein of David E. Kelley's previous and celebrated work, Big Little Lies. It deals with class, being an outsider, how your world can be destroyed by assumptions and gossip."
