Robin Van Persie

Tip for the title

Man United. As much as it pains me to admit it, they always manage to regroup without dipping in quality. Man City could push them close though.

Player to look out for

Aaron Ramsey - it may be my bias towards Wales and my childhood following of Arsenal, but I think he could shine, as Jack Wilshere did last season. And look out for Scott Sinclair at Premiership new boys Swansea.

One change that would make it a better experience for fans

Cheaper and more accessible tickets

The team I support

As well as backing Cardiff to be promoted, I wish Swansea well in the Premiership. I think they're going to find it tough but will play some entertaining football on the way. As for my boyhood allegiance to Arsenal, there'll be lots of squandering of 2-0 leads, I'm sure.

My earliest football memory

Making a mini Charlie George out of pipe-cleaners, wool and washers (as demonstrated on Blue Peter). I sat him on top of the TV as he and I watched Arsenal lose to Leeds United in the 1972 Cup Final.

My first game: Newport County 0 Darlington 0. A thrill a minute. Very boring for the other 89 though.

My current football career

I have kickabouts with my son's under-15s team, which I help manage. When they started with the under-8s, I used to leave them for dust. Now they do they same to me. I'm hoping that this season, I can retire from refereeing.

Guaranteed headline

'Injured Van Persie sidelined for....(fill in gap)'

Advice for footballers who use Twitter

If you want to make headlines, tweet before you think. If you don't, do it the other way round.
