Bristles' Brief Guide To Salvador Dalí
Right, prepare to be amazed, as I tell you all you need to know about an artist in under 60 seconds.
Salvador Dalí, Spanish artist, instantly recognisable by his twiddly moustache.
He was a surrealist, which is a special art term for being weird.
He stuck a lobster on a phone, painted elephants with really long legs, and melty clocks on trees, which was inspired by melty cheese.
Arguably his most famous painting, The Persistence of Memory, would have been pretty odd when he painted it in 1931, because everyone still looked like this. Oh, Papa!
Dalí wasn’t just a one-off in his paintings, he was a bit of a one-off in real life, too.
He went to a lecture in a full diving suit and helmet and had to be broken out with a spanner.
Dalí’s surrealism turned dreams and the impossible into art.
Salvador Dalí completed.
