Bristles' Brief Guide To Vincent van Gogh
Now I’m going to tell you all about a famous artist in under a minute.
Vincent van Gogh, Dutch painter from the 1800s who had an eye for irises, which aren’t just part of the eye, they’re flowers.
He was also partial to sunflowers. He actually painted these eleven times.
Van Gogh’s style was post-impressionism, he loved to emphasize and distort things like these swirly stars. I bet his paintbrush was dizzy.
Sadly during his lifetime Vincent only ever sold a few paintings, including this one called The Red Vineyard.
No one fancied eleven paintings of sunflowers then.
Tragically, Van Gogh is reputed to have cut off part of his own ear.
If only he’d got to see how people loved his pictures now.
Vincent van Gogh, completed.
