Bristles' Brief Guide To Frida Kahlo
You could be crowned an art expert with everything you need to know about a famous artist in under a minute.
Frida Kahlo, Mexican painter born in 1907 who, despite many setbacks, found success and fame as a painter.
And she did it all with eyebrows even the Kardashians would be proud of.
But it’s not just her eyebrows that raised a few eyebrows.
Wow. Her use of bold, vibrant colours represented everything great about Mexico.
Frida couldn’t stop painting, creating over 150 paintings of which a third were selfies.
Portraits, that is. She didn’t own a selfie stick.
Here she is with some parrots, some monkeys, a cat, and a monkey and a parrot. Just to be clear, she wasn’t a pirate or a vet.
Here she is with another Frida. Look at her. She’s beside herself.
In fact, her self-portraits are so good, she’s inspired hundreds of people to paint her.
Why don’t you have a go? You know you want to.
And there you have it, Frida Kahlo, inspirational painter and national hero in Mexico.
Nice one, Frida.
