Question
Tu amigo te ha preguntado sobre la vida escolar en Irlanda del Norte. (Your friend has asked you what life at school is like for students in Northern Ireland.)
Write him a message in Spanish of approximately 120 words. You must write five paragraphs.
Mention:
- what your school routine is like
- your opinion about your teachers
- what your uniform is like
- something pleasant that happened at school recently
- what you are planning to do after the exams
Sample answer:
Empezamos el colegio a las nueve. Tenemos 10 clases cada día con dos pausas de media hora para el recreo y la comida, que es a la una. Las clases terminan a las tres.
Mis profesores son amables. Trabajan duro y me ayudan mucho para que yo saque buenas notas en todas mis asignaturas.
Mi uniforme es bastante sencillo. Llevamos un pantalón, una camisa y una chaqueta con el escudo del colegio. Me gusta porque es cómodo, pero da demasiado calor.
Ayer fuimos a un museo para aprender sobre la extinción de los animales. La excursión duró medio día y fue muy interesante.
Después de los exámenes, quiero trabajar durante el mes de julio para poder ir de vacaciones con mis amigos en agosto.
Translation:
We start school at nine. We have ten classes per day with two half hour pauses for break and lunch, which is at one o’clock. Classes finish at three.
My teachers are kind. They work hard and help me a lot so that I achieve good results in all my subjects.
My uniform is quite simple. We wear a pair of trousers, a shirt and a jacket with the school’s crest. I like it because it is comfortable but it makes you very warm.
Yesterday we went to a museum to learn about the extinction of animals. The trip lasted half a day and was very interesting.
After the exams, I want to work during the month of July so that I can go on holidays with my friends in August.
