CormacDia Duit a Thomáis. Cad é mar atá tú? Ní raibh mé ag labhairt leat le tamall.
TomásDia is Muire duit a Chormaic, tá mé go maith buíochas le Dia. Ní raibh mé ábalta labhairt leat mar ní raibh an t-idirlíon ag obair sa teach.
CormacAn bhfuil tú gnóthach an tseachtain seo?
TomásTá mé iontach gnóthach mar a bhím gach seachtain! Cad é atá ar siúl agat an tseachtain seo?
CormacNa gnáthrudaí is dócha. Scoil ón Luan go dtí an Aoine, traenáil don chispheil i ndiaidh na scoile ar an Mháirt agus Déardaoin agus freastalaím ar ranganna breise don Cheimic Dé Céadaoin.
TomásTá an t-ádh ort go bhfuil tú ábalta cispheil a imirt i ndiaidh na scoile. Ní bhím ábalta freastal ar na seisiúin gach seachtain mar tá mé i mo chónaí amuigh faoin tuath i bhfad ón scoil agus ní bhíonn síob abhaile agam.
CormacIs mór an trua é sin go cinnte. Cad é a dhéanann tú i ndiaidh na scoile de ghnáth?
TomásAn chuid is mó den am, téim díreach abhaile ar an an bhus. Roimh an dinnéar, déanaim mo dhícheall m’obair bhaile uilig a dhéanamh chomh gasta agus is féidir liom. Ina dhiaidh sin, caithim tamall ag imirt cluichí ríomhaire i mo sheomra leapa nó amharcaim ar scannán ar mo ríomhaire glúine. Cuidím le mo mhamaí sa chistin agus le mo dhaidí sa ghairdín gach lá. Cad é mar a chaitheann tú d’am saor tráthnóna?
CormacBraitheann sé. In amanna, is maith liom dul go teach mo charad agus mo scíth a ligean ann. Ó am go ham, éistim le ceol ar mo ghuthán nó ar an raidió i mo sheomra leapa. Nuair a bhíonn m’obair bhaile déanta, imrím cluichí ar an ríomhaire. An dtéann tú chuig an phictiúrlann i rith na seachtaine?
TomásDe ghnáth, téim oíche Mháirt mar bíonn na ticéid níos saoire ar an lá sin!

CormacHello Tomás, how are you? I haven't been speaking to you for a while.
TomásHello Cormac, I am good thanks be to God. I wasn’t able to speak with you because the internet wasn’t working in the house.
CormacAre you busy this week?
TomásI am very busy as I am every week! What are you doing this week?
CormacThe usual things probably. School from Monday to Friday, training for basketball after school on Tuesday and Thursday and I attend extra classes for Chemistry on Wednesdays.
TomásYou are lucky that you are able to play basketball after school. I am not able to attend the sessions every week because I live out in the countryside far from school and I don’t have a lift home.
CormacThat’s a great pity surely. What do you usually do after school?
TomásMost of the time, I go straight home on the bus. Before dinner, I do my best to do all my homework as fast as I possibly can. After that, I spend time playing computer games in my bedroom or I watch a film on my laptop. I help my mum in the kitchen and my dad in the garden every day. How do you spend your free time in the evenings?
CormacIt depends, sometimes I like to go to my friend’s house and relax there. From time to time, I listen to music on my phone or on the radio in my bedroom. When all my homework is done, I play games on the computer. Do you go to the cinema during the week?
TomásUsually, I go on Tuesday night because the tickets are cheaper that day.
