- Où habites-tu? T’habites où exactement?
- Je vis à Belfast, une grande ville industrielle, qui est la capitale de l'Irlande du Nord. J'y ai toujours vécu. J'habite dans le sud de la ville, tout près du centre-ville et près de la rivière Lagan.
- Qu’est-ce qu’il y a dans ton quartier?
- Près de chez moi, il y a une route principale avec de nombreux magasins, des restaurants et des cafés. Mon endroit préféré où je vais avec mes amis est le marchand de glaces qui vend les meilleures glaces d’Irlande du Nord. Dans mon quartier, nous avons également un club de football gaélic local et un club de rugby. Tous les samedis matins, on peut faire une course de 5 km dans le grand parc local – où on peut également jouer au tennis à l’intérieur ou à l’extérieur. À environ quinze minutes à pied, de l’autre côté de la rivière, il y a un club nautique où on peut faire de l’aviron.
- Qu’est ce-que tu penses de ton quartier?
- J'adore mon quartier car mon école est à 10 minutes à pied de chez moi. Je l’aime aussi car il y a beaucoup de divertissements pour les jeunes. Il y a des pistes cyclables, un théâtre avec un groupe de théâtre local et on peut aller au centre-ville en 10 minutes en bus. Là, je peux aller au cinéma ou jouer au bowling avec mes amis.
- Est-ce que tu préfèrerais habiter à la campagne?
- D’abord j'aime pouvoir faire beaucoup de choses différentes parce que je m'ennuie facilement. Avoir beaucoup de choix et de divertissements est la raison pour laquelle je préfère vivre dans une ville et non pas à la campagne. De plus, parce que j’ai toujours vécu dans une ville, je pense qu’il serait étrange de déménager à la campagne.
- Quels sont les problèmes quand on habite en ville?
- Sans aucun doute l'un des gros problèmes de la vie en ville est la circulation. Cela dit je peux marcher jusqu'à l'école mais mes amis qui se rendent à l'école avec leurs parents sont souvent en retard à cause des embouteillages. Dans ma rue, qui a beaucoup de maisons mitoyennes – pour la plupart il y a un gros problème de stationnement et c'est aussi très bruyant.
- Tu aimerais habiter dans une grande ville comme Londres?
- Oui, même si vivre dans une grande ville a des inconvénients, j'aimerais vivre à Londres. Les grandes villes sont toujours animées et passionnantes. Il y a toujours beaucoup de choses intéressantes à faire et à voir. Les galeries, les musées et les théâtres sont fantastiques et il y a les meilleurs magasins aussi.

- I live in Belfast, a large industrial city, that is the capital of Northern Ireland. I have always lived there. I live in the south of the city, very near to the city centre and close to the River Lagan.
- What's in your neighbourhood?
- Close to my house, there is a main road with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes. My favourite place to go with my friends is the ice-cream parlour that sells the best ice-cream in Northern Ireland. In my area we also have a local GAA club and a rugby club. Every Saturday morning you can do a 5k run in the huge local park – you can also play indoor or outdoor tennis there. Around fifteen minutes by foot, on the other side of the river, there is a boat club where you can go rowing.
- What do you think of your neighbourhood?
- I love my neighbourhood because my school is a 10-minute walk from my house. Also, I like it because there’s lots of entertainment for young people. There are cycle paths, a theatre with a local drama group and you can get into the centre of town in 10 minutes by bus. There I can go to the cinema or go bowling with my friends.
- Would you prefer to live in the countryside?
- First, I like to be able to do lots of different things because I get bored easily. Having a lot of choice and entertainment is the main reason I prefer living in a city and not the countryside. Also, because I’ve always lived in a city I think it would be strange to move to the country.
- What are the main problems of living in a city?
- Without a doubt, one of the big problems of living in a city is the traffic. That said, I can walk to school but my friends who drive to school with their parents are often late because of traffic jams. In my street, which has lots of terraced houses - for the most part there is a big parking problem and it is also very noisy.
- Would you like to live in a big city like London?
- Yes, even though living in a big city has disadvantages, I would love to live in London. Big cities are always lively and exciting. There are always lots of interesting things to do and see. The galleries, museums and theatres are fantastic and it has the best shops too.
