Sources of Inspiration

A source of inspiration for this outfit could have been peacocks as the blue teardrop shapes look like the shapes found on peacock feathers. The turban style headpiece and the baggy trousers caught in at the ankles remind me of India, so this culture could have been a source of inspiration.

Decoration

Some of the decoration looks as if it has been created with beadwork. It appears as if large beads have been stitched on which add texture and pattern and helps the design to stand out. Embroidery has also been used to create decorative effects and teardrop shapes in contrasting blue shiny fabric have been stitched on to create a repeating pattern. The jewel decoration on the centre of the headpiece and the bodice of the outfit create a focal point and catch your attention.

Wearability

Although the decoration looks heavy, the fabrics used are very lightweight and would probably be comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The baggy style of the trousers means that the outfit would be easy to move in and would not restrict movement. The section which loops from the bodice through the legs to the back may get in the way at times and the wearer would need to be careful not to get this caught on something or to trip on it.
