The exam
The exam paper tests knowledge and understanding of:
- art and design concepts
- how social and cultural influences impact on the work and practice of artists and designers
Key exam information
- There is one paper, worth 20% of the National 5 Art and Design course.
- It is made up of 40 marks in total, which are scaled to 50 marks.
- It has two sections:
- Expressive art studies
- Design studies
- You must answer four questions out of twelve in total, answering two questions from each section:
- The examiner can award one mark for each justified comment which is relevant to the question.
- To gain full marks, you must answer all elements of each question.
