The following adjectives always come before the noun:

  • mauvais: une mauvaise note - a bad mark
  • grand: un grand château - a big castle
  • petit: une petite grenouille - a small frog
  • jeune: un jeune homme - a young man
  • joli: une jolie robe - a pretty dress
  • premier: le premier train pour Lyon - the first train to Lyon
  • autre: un autre jour - another day
