Asking for information about the area

Imagine that you are designing a questionnaire to ask people about their opinions of the area.

Question

Think of some basic questions to find out about the area, using the following words/phrases:

Ble...? – Where...?

Sut le...? Pa fath o le...? – What kind of place...?

Oes...? – Is/ Are there...?

Wyt ti'n...?/Ydych chi'n...? – Do you...?

Faint o...?/Sawl...? – How many...?

Beth...? – What...?

If you want to ask more complex questions, you could use other tenses.

Question

Here are some answers, but what were the questions?

  1. Hoffwn i weld mwy o yn yr ardal.
  2. Dylai'r wneud mwy i stopio graffiti yn yr ardal.
  3. Baswn i'n hoffi byw yn Sbaen achos y tywydd braf.

Exercise

Design a questionnaire to ask for information and opinions about the area. Begin by asking some basic questions then go on to ask more complex questions using different tenses.

Why not ask someone these questions and record their answers?
