Interviewing someone

Read the following profile of George North, the well-known Welsh rugby player.

Ces i fy yn King’s Lynn yn Norfolk yn 1992 ond es i i’r ysgol yn Llangefni ar ôl yno gyda fy nheulu. Wedyn, es i i Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern. Dw i’n byw yn Northampton achos dw i’n chwarae rygbi i Seintiau Northampton.

Dw i wrth fy modd yn chwarae rygbi ond dw i’n mwynhau chwarae golff, pêl-droed a beicio mynydd hefyd. I , fy hoff hobïau ydy gwylio ffilmiau a gwrando ar gerddoriaeth.

Imagine that you're going to interview George North on a television programme. You need to prepare questions that will highlight some of the above information.

You should ask questions in the chi form, which is the polite way of asking questions to someone you don’t know. Change these questions from ti to chi. Remember, you can get help with past tense questions in the Writing about the past guide.

On the same television programme you are going to interview Jeremy Owen Prothero-Smith, but you know nothing about him apart from the fact that he’s an up-and-coming sports star. So you write a note to the producer asking for information. Prepare a list of questions such as:

Question

  1. What does he do?
  2. Where does he live?
  3. What are his favourite hobbies?
  4. Where was he born?
  5. Which school did he go to?

If you wanted to talk about a female, you would use hi instead of o/e.
