Don't panic! Gaelic follows the English!

What's your name? Gregory

Where do you stay/are you from? I live in the United States (the state of Texas to be precise).

What inspired you to learn Gaelic? Pride in my Scottish heritage.

What tips do you have for other Gaelic learners? Don't give up.

How do you use Gaelic in your daily lives? As I am currently the only person in my family as well as in my circle of friends who has a desire to speak Gaelic, I don't have much opportunity to use it. I mostly use it around the house. I try to use Gaelic when writing out my grocery list. As my skills improve, I may use it to chat up a lass at a pub. Eventually, I may be able to use it to advance my career.

Do you have a favourite Gaelic expression? Not yet. I'm just at the earliest stages of learning. The various books and compact discs that I have purchased have not been very helpful. I've only just discoverd the Beag Air Bheag website and I can already tell that it will help me far more than any of the other methods that I have tried.

Dè an t-ainm a th' ort? Gregory.

Co às a tha thu?/ Càite a bheil thu a' fuireach? Tha mi a' fuireach anns na Stàitean Aonaichte, ann an Texas.
What inspired you to learn Gaelic (it's ok to say you don't know)?

Dè thog d' ùidh anns a' chànan? Tha mi moiteil às mo dhualchas Albannach.

A bheil molaidhean agad airson luchd-ionnsachaidh eile? Cùm ort!

Ciamar a tha thu a' cleachdadh Gàidhlig nad bheatha làitheil? Am measg mo charaidean is càirdean, chan eil Gàidhlig aig duine sam bith eile, mar sin, chan eil tòrr chothroman agam gu bhith ga cleachdadh. Bidh mi a' feuchainn mo liosta-bìdh a sgrìobhadh anns a' Ghàidhlig. Nuair a tha mo sgilean nas fheàrr,‘s dòcha gum bi mi ga cleachdadh son bruidhinn ri tè ann an taigh-seinnse. ‘S dòcha, gum bi mi ga cleachdadh airson obair fhaighinn.

A bheil abairt Ghàidhlig as fheàrr leat? Chan eil fhathast, tha mi dìreach aig toiseach tòiseachaidh. Fhuair mi tòrr leabhraichean is clàran, ach cha robh iad uabhasach cuideachail. Lorg mi an làrach-lìn seo o chionn ghoirid agus tha a h-uile coltas ann gum bi e nas cuideachail na càil sam bith a dh' fheuch mi.
