
As Interim Wales Director, Garmon leads the BBC Wales Executive Teams and has overall responsibility for the content strategy and editorial priorities for BBC Wales across all media platforms and services – radio, video and online - in both the English and Welsh languages.
Originally from Aberystwyth, Garmon began his journalism career at the BBC in 2000, before working as a television and radio producer in a range of roles across political and current affairs output.
For three years he led strategy development and planning across BBC Wales, before re-joining the news department as Deputy Head in 2012 to oversee political, specialist and Welsh language journalism.
In 2017, he became Head of News and Current Affairs, leading the development of all news and current affairs services across online, mobile, radio and television.
In 2022, he moved on to lead the Local Value for All digital transformation project in England, before becoming Business & Operations Director for BBC Wales.
