By embedding the 50:50 process in the way students work today we hope those same future editorial leaders will take these values into their first roles and beyond.
Since 2019, 50:50 has partnered with the education sector to provide hundreds of student journalists and creatives with a mechanism to track representation in their reporting and content. The Universities Network wanted to build on this and 50:50 The Pitch was born. The idea is simple. To give students the experience of competing for work and producing content for a client – the BBC's 50:50 The Equality Project.
