Clothing store bid back on table
Cuckoo Bridge retail park
The retail park plans have been submitted once more
A third attempt by clothing firm Next to open a store in a Dumfries retail park has been submitted to councillors.

The revised application aims to lift trading restrictions which have blocked the company's Cuckoo Bridge plans.

The firm has claimed it would create about 70 jobs but planning officers have recommended refusal.

Earlier this year a similar bid was rejected on the grounds that it would be detrimental to the viability of shops in Dumfries town centre.

A previous attempt to get planning permission was withdrawn before being discussed by the council's regulatory committee.
