Paper mill decision due in days

Inverurie paper mill
More than 300 workers are waiting to learn their fate

Hundreds of workers at the closure threatened Inverurie Paper Mill will learn more about their future later this week.

A 90-day consultation has now ended with management to hold briefings in the next few days.

The prospects for the site remain uncertain, and the Amicus union has voiced concerns about compensation levels for the remaining 355 workers.

A public statement from International Paper is expected soon.

International Paper acquired the historic mill in 1996.
