Personal toasters could be banned as part of the cost-cutting measures |
Staff at Aberdeen City Council who have their own kettles or toasters at work risk losing them in a cost-cutting measure. The number and types of council diaries and calendars could also be reduced as the council tries to save money. The plans have been agreed by the continuous improvement committee. Wider energy issues will also be tackled such as fuel savings, water use and paper and waste costs. The council is trying to save about 50m. A report with more details on each measure will be made to a future committee meeting. Decisions on the future of major capital projects in Aberdeen were previously referred to the full council by those examining the city's budget.
